LIAM GALLAGHER.. should colaborate with a distinctive guitar hero. Maybe not Richards Allthoug that would be my dream collaboration. But maybe someone like Nick McCabe, maybe Marr, or even some new unknown fellow.

He is a Multi millionaire, owns a massively successful fashion business and was a major part of the biggest band in the UK since The Beatles. If he never sings another song in his life he has performed on nine top five UK albums (seven as number one), headlined Knebworth, Wembley and pretty much every major musical venue in the world. I'd say even with his slightly dodgy private life (and who can really judge anyone else's private life) I'm pretty sure most people would quiet like Liam Gallagher's life. Valid points, although the only things he I would guess he would have preferred not to have had is the latest love child saga or the (presumably) expensive upcoming child maintenance, divorce and ex-wife etc. maintenance settlements, though in fairness he isn't the first nor will he be the last in that situation. The fact he is famous just means it makes the newspapers, etc. As to life it depends what your goals and objectives are. To put another slant on it with the exception of Pretty Green all of that is in the past, so perhaps he will simply move on from music and continue building his fashion label. The Independent earlier in the year reported that private equity companies looking into the business valued it at £20M based on underlying profits of circa £2M, giving Liam a share worth £6M- Independent Newspaper . The downside to this with court cases for children and divorce is this is counted towards the wealth when a settlement is decided by the court, meaning Liam would have to raise the cash by selling his shares or some other means as it is currently tied up as an investment rather than as available cash. I concur my friend with most of your points. And while i think the cost of his current divorce is likely to covered comfortably by his earnings over the years I agree that the upcoming few months are likely to be expensive one's for Liam Gallagher. To be clear however the point i was answering was the line 'don't think there are too many people who would swop places with Liam' it is a view i have read a few times on this board and one that really baffles me. No matter how extreme the views on this board are at times regarding Liam Gallagher's vocals, song writing ability, personal life, appearance or any other aspect of his life that we comment on it is incredible to me that the hysteria has reached these levels. You can think his voice sucks, you can think every album he has sung on since 1994 sucks, you can think his personal life is embarrassing and you can never want to hear him release another record again but it is crazy to suggest that he is having a 'bad life' or isn't in a good position in his life when compared to the majority of people alive in the world today. I am as sure as sure can be that whatever the state of his vocals, career or home life Liam Gallagher would not swop places with any of us! Case in point we come to this board and comment or read all the time and the origins of this board begin with the band he fronted. I wonder how many times Liam would comment on a board about any of us

I still believe, that he has enough good songs in him for an interesting solo record. Nevermind music business right now. Look for a small record label and put out some music you love, not that should be loved by everybody.

Id like a solo album but I can only see him coming back for oasis, I cant see him doing any better solo than what beady eye did, beady eye had the bonus that they could ride the momentum of the oasis split but if Liam came out now and released an album I cant see it doing well purely because hes just not main stream enough anymore unfortunately.

It would depend on who he was writing and producing the album with IMO. A name producer and especially songwriting partner could generate interest in Liam as a musician/vocalist once more, which would be enough on it's own I would think to go between the 75,000 (BE) and 200,000 (DGSS) certified sales (UK only) of Beady Eye. The other factor would be the quality of the songs and if they are good with one or two radio friendly tracks he may have a surprise hit on his hands- not saying Oasis style sales but a better performance than Beady Eye. All this of course depends on Liam wanting to make a record and also being capable vocally of not only making but also being able to promote it via touring, amongst other methods. The obvious quicker way for him to come back and cash in easily would be an Oasis reunion, but this again hinges on the aforementioned parts on his voice, as well as Noel's willingness to go ahead with said reunion. IMO an Oasis reunion is not a 100% guarantee. It is more likely than not providing Liam is up to the task, but Noel is also a friend and ardent follower of Paul Weller and Johnny Marr, two men famous amongst other things for refusing high earning offers to reform their iconic bands. In Marr's case he turned down millions with Morrissey to reunite as The Smiths without even needing Andy Rourke or Mike Joyce to be involved, and as Noel is already having much better than anticipated (by him and management) success with sales and touring, the need to reform Oasis may not be strong enough for him.

I personally think that the oasis reunion rumours help generate interest in Noels solo stuff as everytime he shoots down another rumour it makes for headlines and in turn that helps to keep peoples eyes on what hes up to in a solo capacity, he even said that once the stone roses got back together no-one talked about them anymore, I think he knows that an oasis reunion is bascially a one shot deal, once theyve done it that will be it, the interest will never be the same if they got back together and split again, he might do it one day but it will be because he wants to retire and doing a circuit with Oasis is a much bigger way to go out that touring on his own. as far as Liam goes, his voice is the most important thing on either side eg if he does go solo, he needs to put on a fantastic vocal to turn peoples heads and show hes still a force to be reckoned with, its the same with oasis, one of noels worries is people will see them and say "you shouldve seen them back then", Im pretty sure if Noel ever entertained the idea of a reunion he would want Liam to put some effort in to be the best he can be, he wouldnt settle for them to get back together only for Liam to sing like he did at the itunes festival etc.

He doesn't like interviewing and doesn't do well at it. He still tries to keep from smiling in public even when he wants to laugh. Noel however interviews like a champ and laughs in interviews now. I think this inability to self-promote will always hinder him. His only self-promotion is scowling and saying, "don't buy it if you don't like it." He still is the character "Liam Gallagher" from the 90's instead of being himself. Would it ruin him in public to smile?

I remember when Noel said something about Liam "still putting out the persona of a barking dog" or something and it did make it sound like Liam sort of puts on a character in public, and like you I think if Liam just mellowed down and just was himself people would probably like him like they do with Noel, I have only ever really heard good things about Liam but you wouldnt guess it from the way he is normally. If he was really like then I would say hes just being himself but I dont think thats the case. both beady eye albums he just went overboard with saying how good it was going to be and while I liked them they were no way "the album we shouldve made after morning glory", hes always setting himself up for a fall because the people who dont like him are just waiting to prove him wrong. Noel used to be quite loud and arrogant in the 90s but its like he realised that he was older and couldnt carry on doing it, Noel was quite a different person after about 2000, Liam just never grew out of it, like someone said on here, when your in the biggest band in the world you can pull being really arrogant but when your in a small band etc you just rub people up the wrong way.

Whatever he decides to do, I just hope that he's happy and healthy. yea, its not really surprising hes walked away, his private life looks to have been chaos and I think Liam got sick of being a singer in general because lets face it theres not been much in the way of positive comments towards him as a singer since I dont know when, him even saying "Im sick of idiots saying I cant sing" was abit surpring from Liam gallagher, clearly got to him more than he let on. he might come back but like I said before I cant see it being for anything else other than oasis, if he released a solo album hed have to make sure it was well done and not just some 60s ripoff thing, hes got to modernise himself abit, like noel has.

When Oasis exploded in America between 1995-1996 you could just tell that one misstep by the band or Liam, and the press/fans were going to crush that rock n roll bravado. You can't always act like you've sold 20 million records and are a member in Spinal Tap. Liam's behavior was very consistent in America from 1996 and 2009 and that was a problem.

Dunno but whatever it will be it will be good I can feel it... that's why i've always been an Oasis fan was always blown away about the different songs each album...!
Even Liam's little demo in ireland showed great promise... if he can sound that good in a pub with some idiot doing shit percussion how good will be sound going solo?
Big problem is the producer... gotta be good, please not Dave Sitek ffs!!!!!!!
Any chance Liam's stuff can sound as good as this:

dave sitek imo gave beady eye what they needed, their unique sound, its just a shame BE was abit too little too late, Ive always said that beady eye probably wouldve got a better reception had BE gone out as the debut, the fact they called it BE even sounded like a debut album.
the general atmosphere of songs from a production standpoint like flick of the finger, soul love and second bite of the apple was the way to go.
had it been HFB 1 vs BE, there wouldnt have been such a big gap between them, think people wouldve probably noticed that.

Would have also helped IMO if Gem's injuries and personal situations (primarily Liam's) hadn't derailed the promotional & touring aspects of that release. If they had been able to do this and stay with Quest Management (with the Debbie Gwyther situation understandable why it ended but still) then perhaps they would have had a better critical reception and improved commercial performance, which could have led to a third album progressing down the experimental route including I would hope reconnecting Andy Bell with his roots in Ride and a love of the 80's/early 90's genuinely forward looking independent music.

I like SBOTA now but even so they had MUCH better stuff to push out as the first single. The whole marketing wasnt exactly the most amazing Ive seen, they didnt even put the TV ad out until 11pm the night before release. Ive spoken to quite a few people and said "I like beady eye" and nearly all the responses was "who are they?", dont think they ever simply marketed beady eye in the proper way, people just kind of forgot about them by the time BE came out and they didnt do enough to make themselves noticed.
