since when does city not have fans?! they were selling out maine road when they were in the 3rd division... and united, chelsea, liverpool all spend just as much as city. City do not "sell out" in the traditional manner - they have full allocation of seats every match but that's because the owners buy the seats themselves - watch them and you'll see swathes of blue seats. And there is no way United, Liverpool and Arsenal spend as much. Granted, United have spent a lot the last two seasons but over a period of five years, the prices City have been paying is ridiculous. That said, City shouldn't even be owned by Arab billionaires - if the Premier League stuck to their rules of "fit and proper" owners (which they don't), then any league with moral values wouldn't touch these owners with a barge pole considering the human rights abuses committed by the Dubai owning family. im talking about when they were in division 3. before the billionaires turned up. they were averaging 30k fans at home games. i only brought it up because someone mentioned they had no fans. i agree that city and chelsea havent exactly 'earned' their cash. i just dont really care. and granted, united won their money, but its been a long time since theyve developed talent themselves. they just buy big like the other two. over the last 5 seasons city & chelsea have spent £390mill and united £380mill. pretty much the same. wenger is the only one thats spent within his means.

Maybe it's because they are supported by real fans, from Manchester, and not tourists like those other teams you've just mentioned?

To be fair globe, if you see the ticket prices from all those clubs today then they must be all prawn sandwich eating day trippers. You can tell in the way all those stadiums are dead quiet.

since when does city not have fans?! they were selling out maine road when they were in the 3rd division... and united, chelsea, liverpool all spend just as much as city. Arsenal, Utd, and Liverpool live within their own means. Chelsea and Citeh do not. That's the difference. One of the most ridiculous things I've read on this place. Man City are owned by a billionaire and as a result live very comfortably in their own means. Same for Chelsea. All the old guard moan because the traditional big clubs in England have received a kick up the arse by Chelsea first and now City. Manchester Utd have spent just as much as City over the last two summers the difference is United let their squad get old and stale and have wasted millions on replacements that are not in the same class as the traditional Utd player. Arsenal win medals in standing still and doing just enough to finish in the top four. I am a massive fan of Wenger and really wanted him and Arsenal to win it this year but to do nothing after finally getting a keeper is season suicide. Liverpool are just Liverpool and have had their day. I'm a Leeds fan, we lived outside our means and have paid for it. City and Chelsea don't they or their owners can afford what they spend.

i agree, but i think their point is that united earned their cash through winning leagues/trophies and through transfer fees. they werent just given the money for doing nothing. if living within your means, means not going bankrupt, then almost all teams do that. but not many top teams only spend the money the club makes them...

Chelsea and Diego Costa are DISGUSTING. This is exactly why everyone hates both of them. Absolutely abhorrent.

West Ham two up against City.
Fantastic from Bilic - still a long way to go in this match but his ability to play the big teams away is sensational for West Ham.

We all know how much I hate Chelsea. We all didn't think I could hate Chelsea anymore than I already was. But that changed today. I'm still literally seething at the disgusting behavior of Costa and the abhorrent nature of Chelsea Football Club generally, right from the top with Roman Abramovich down to the manager Jose Mourinho and onto the players like Diego Costa, John Terry, et al.
At 0-0 and 11 vs 11 Chelsea just edged the first half but it was pretty even with both teams looking rather poor. Costa was causing behavioral problems from the start - he waved an imaginary card for a foul in the SECOND minute, and then we all know what happened at the end of the first half.
It would be nice for the FA to retrospectively ban Costa and suspend Mike Dean for a game or two. But it's not going to happen, is it?
What we saw today epitomizes why Chelsea and Costa are so hated. People hated Man Utd in the 90s, but that was due to their dominance and superior talent. Contrast that with where the hatred comes from regarding Chelsea. Exactly. Diatribe over.

So Diego Costa has been retroactively suspended for three matches. And Gabriel Paulista's red card appeal has been successful and he won't serve his suspension. Meaning, Mike Dean got the entirety of the big calls wrong. Yet Chelsea still walk away with the three points, and Dean gets to officiate the next match - yeah, that makes a lot of sense. FFS. Cheating scum.

Yeah, like that time we were robbed against Liverpool with Ramsay's perfectly legitimate goal wrongly ruled out. More points lost. I don't want to hear it when it's Arsenal's turn to benefit. Mind you, it's different when a human error disallows a goal (i.e. Ramsay's), and when we're denied points by a cheating sociopath (Diego Costa).

I was going to turn on a sitcom, but I will instead settle for the jokes of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea!
