i don't care what any of these reviewers say, BDI will always be huge in Belgium... God bless. Liam reminds me of Cliff. This negativity just makes BDI stronger, they will not retreat, this band is unstoppable! God bless.

Just one persons opinion but it doesn't necessarily bode well.

The translate page of Google chrome is hit But yea, just one person's opinion. It sounds like this person wasn't a fan of the songwriting.

The track by track doesn't come up on the translation for me. They are also too big to big for google translate.
Anything interesting said?

These reviews are hardly reliable, I remember being excited when DGSS was coming out because it was getting a lot of 7s and 8s everywhere. Even as a fan of the band, it's hard for me to give it anything past 6 tbh.

We know all music reviews aren't reliable as music is very subjective but they do allow us to gain information and the tracks

French review translated:
We had the chance to listen in front first new Beady Eye album, expected for June 10. The two released singles predicted a revival for the method of composition. A growing share of experimentation, a bigger risk taking and a new treatment of the voice of Liam Gallagher. He said with modesty that characterizes that this album would be recorded by Oasis between (What's the story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now. No strange choice because these two albums are often considered respectively as the best and worst of the discography of the group from Manchester. What therefore is worth this second album from Beady Eye?
Flick of the Finger: The album's first single and first surprise. It is with a piece without real structure that the Group decided to begin hostilities. Worn by the simplest rhythm of the world, giving the thing a look very solemn, almost military brass support the voice of Liam. It is believed the Stone Roses and their I Wanna Be Adored. The best opening possible.
Soul Love : A strange transition. While the machine was launched, the Group chose to break the dynamics with this very pretty ballad. The song is an accuracy rarely reached for Liam. Its possible the more sober desired voice finally arrives to move us. A beautiful success.
Face The Crowd : First tempo high album. A rock pop song removed but may be too repetitive. Only the well felt bridge reach get us that aftertaste of unfinished. The outro, it reminds a little Four Letter World. Phew, the piece is saved. Pleasant, not unforgettable.
Second Bite of the Apple : Second single. Immediate favorite. The brass and percussion intermingle for a successful record. Very removed and well-structured piece. The Group proves he can very well also compose the instant classic. The favorite from the album.
Soon Come Tomorrow : In the same line as the previous. A mid tempo intelligent and well built but quieter. Special mention to the melody of the chorus, heady. May be the piece that sounds the most Oasis of the entire album, one would not surprised it comes from an old demo of the end of the last century. The long instrumental outro to leave dream more than one. A beautiful answer to the firmness of the previous track.
Iz Rite : We find the Beady Eye of the first album. Brighter and more raw than the other compositions. A few strings adorn the whole, giving it the relief that some were not on the previous effort. Thought to Don't Look Back In Anger in the structure and for the contrast between the pre chorus and chorus (punchy as knows sing Liam). A second instant classic.
I'm Just Saying : The opening on a typically bhoomika rosien stone announces the more rock piece. If a little edgy rock registry seems to be the weak point of this album (Face in the Crowd, Shine a Light), this I m Just Saying is the exception that proves the rule. Morning Glory mind arises, as well in the chorus with this solo, typically gallagherien. The piece the most catchy album.
Don't Brother Me : Piece implicitly dedicated to big brother. While one would expect a spill of hatred and resentment, the group takes us to foot and book a soft rock slow, worn by an acoustic guitar. Liam however spares no feelings "Always in the sun, with your Number One... sick of all your lying your scheming and your crying" even if its love Nono seems a little miss him «Come on and give peace a chance, take my hand, be a man". We will discuss about the relevance of this long outro of 4 minutes (Yes Yes), certainly successful but necessarily very repetitive. A test half transformed.
Shine a Light : The sweetness continues with this introduction piano, extending beautiful lethargy in which had immersed us by the previous track. Only, all switches when the group breaks the enchantment and launches into a southern rock rhythm. Without interest, this ce morceau piece recalls it Face in the Crowd mentioned earlier, without the small nuances that saved it. The outro endless is dared to even again. It won't work this time guys. Nevermind.
Ballroom Figured : Liam armed with his acoustic guitar trying the exercise of the melancholic ballad. It is unfortunately not the genius of his brother, master of the genus (which it still seems to get revenge in the lyrics) and makes an unconvincing partition as a draft of Married with Children. The lack of arrangements sorely lacking in this piece, too poor however to be exempt. A composition in half shade.
Start a New : And now the third instant classic. It is a new ballad that closes the album. The arrangements are light, the well brings crescendo, it is allowed to wear and it works. The bridge brings even an appreciable air touch. "Come on take a chance and start anew, me and you". Guess who these lyrics are dedicated. A successful fence.
If the renewal is well felt, it is not also present what could announce Liam Gallagher. While it expected an album peeping on psychedelia, we have to do to honest compositions, experimenting a little on some outro but overall very conventional. However, this hinder in any way the quality of the pieces. A solid album, may be more than the previous one which definitively affirm Beady Eye into a fully-fledged band and not an ersatz d' Oasis.
7.5/10
A big thanks to Columbia France and Sony to first listen.

The 4/10 isn't any more reliable than the 7/10. You seem to be on a crusade to "discredit" me by taking things out of context lol

And you seem to be on one to complain, moan and discredit anything the band do that people might enjoy. Funny that when you declared the 4/10 the start of the band been panned by all the critics you never mentioned it been unreliable then....

The reviews were never amazing for Oasis either, but this time it's worrying coz the second review seem to dig the tracks we got so far, which are, let's be honest, weak at best.

Do i want that in a Liam Gallagher fronted band ? No. Beady should quit if they can't make a 11 strong song record. With 3 songwriters, that's what they should get to. No fillers, no weak tracks, they should have enough material for that.

If they thought there was only five good songs on an eleven track album they wouldn't have given it seven out of ten.

But isn't that the usual structure of the majority of albums eg you have 3 or 4 really strong songs and the rest are fillers obviously there are exceptions like what's the story? morning glory but then thats why its amazing. Reviews seem good, depends on whose reviewing them eg a person who isn't really into stuff like beady eye is going to give it a great score, its only an opinion after all.

Another review may highlight other songs to be good ones tho..
I just think after all the negativity it's positive sign. Rather than reviewers blanket saying this track good or worse them all saying these tracks are shit.
Obviously I would would prefer 11 strong tracks (from any album not just them) and if 6 of them are shit not just average then they certainly should think about not bothering releasing another record
Until we hear it we won't know.

Good review that last one. Well written, and seemed quite sensible when rating the songs, no over the top fan-boying or Beady Eye bashing. Looking forward to it!

Without a poor track every so often, it becomes harder to appreciate the brilliance of others.

Still wondering what Liam meant by "an out there record" Good review. Hoping we get an 8/10 at some point.
