Noel Gallagher hasn't "lit up the world" with his solo material, according to his brother Liam. The two siblings have a famously fiery relationship which caused their band, Oasis, to split in 2009. While Liam has gone on to release music with his group Beady Eye, Noel has focused on his own material. Noel has made disparaging remarks about Beady Eye's success in public, with Liam unsure why he feels able to point the finger. "I tell you f**king what, we've all got a lot of graft to do, d'you know what I mean? Him too," Liam fumed to Q magazine. "He's sold a f**king few records, why wouldn't he sell records, he was the main songwriter of Oasis but he certainly hasn't f**king lit up the world." Liam still harbours some animosity towards his brother for the way Oasis ended. The pair argued backstage at a concert in Paris, resulting in a broken guitar and Noel quitting. Liam finds is hard to support his brother's new venture after what happened. "Was I pleased for him [when he released his album]? What, for splitting up my f**king band? I'm not pleased for him, no," Liam said. "I hope he's f**king happy but he doesn't look it. And he won't be happy when he hears we've done an out-there record that we're actually gonna f**king release before him. With our out-there record, you're gonna hear it next year, with his out-there record, you'll never hear it." Source: www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk

He really has become a "grumpy old man". He used to be different before and now he just seems to be pissed off all the time.

The musical landscape was changed forvever by a humble mancunian man, forced out of his band by his little brother and propelled to be the head of the church of Rock & Roll.
Noel Gallagher has receieved criticism from some for his album not being 'out there'. And cancelling an 'out there album'.
These 'revisionists' argue that Noel has shot himself in the foot by not releasing that ghastly 'AA' album. Most vocally, Liam Gallagher...
But it was Mr Noely G, who in a Karaspaov-like display of nerve and skill allowed the feeble novice to take his pawn.
He had Liam right where he wanted him the whole time.
Ultimately, the 'fashionistas' who do their weekly shopping at John Lewis determined that Liam is more exciting than Noel. The same people who critisise Noel of being 'boring' and then preceed to listen to Kasabian.
Mr Gallagher was aware that his approach would not please everybody. He knew that it was at high risk, to him most of all.
He is not a perfect man; but he was willing to swallow his pride and cancel a disaster in wait.
He is the saviour of Rock & Roll.

I'm not impressed with Liam's over hyping of their new "out there" record. Let the songs do the talking please. I've been let down too many times before with bold Gallagher brother claims.

Gotta love this quote:
"...And he won't be happy when he hears we've done an out-there record that we're actually gonna f**king release before him. With our out-there record, you're gonna hear it next year, with his out-there record, you'll never hear it."
I think I get why Liam wants to make an out-there record now haha ;D

Some of you have to realise that Liam is bombarded with these questions in interviews. There probably a lot of 'Noel said...' stuff going on from interviewers to generate these sorts of reactions. When its targeted at the emotional Liam Gallagher about a subject that irritates him this is the result.

Liam is straight down the line and says what he thinks. I like that about him but it can land him in hot water at times. Noel is more cunning, almost sneaky with his remarks about Liam which can fool people to believe he is a nicer person than Liam.

Yeh which for me makes Liam a more likeable person but it does mean he ends up saying some ridiculous statements that make Noel seem more likeable to the press and people who aren't that big on oasis

If Beady Eye's 'out there' simply consists of a sitar and a backwards tape loops then I'll see to it personally that I go to every single store in the world and smash their CDs.
