It is not too harsh to say that in terms of continued mass appeal worldwide, Oasis were relative 'flash in the pans' in 1996 despite their continued popularity to the very end as a stadium live act (mostly in the UK and South America). I get what you're saying. But even in the markets where their popularity had significantly waned (everywhere outside UK, South America, Japan and Italy) the albums would always go top ten even until the very end with DOYS. The 'flash in the pan' title belongs to Hanson, not Oasis. The Rolling Stones haven't made a decent record in 30 years. Were they flash in the pans? No, becasue when they were big...they were SO fucking big that the impact of their popularity stretches beyond untold millenia. Such is, and will be, the same with Oasis.

I would just like to add that RHCP are fucking shit and that supporting them will be one of the most awkward and demeaning experiences of Noel's life.

i have no idea why you guys hate on RHCP. sure, they're not as good with klinghoffer as they were with frusciante, but they are soon to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. rightfully so, too. "mother's milk," "blood sugar sex magik" and "californication" are three brilliant records.
i think noel opening for them makes for an interesting lineup, but i'd go in a heartbeat.

Funny how it's all the Americans defending RHCP.
I would expect that from people devoid of all taste and knowledge of what rock 'n' roll is in the first place.

Yes Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis were largely ignored. You keep thinking that. Rock 'n' roll was 'largely ignored' not completely ignored. Learn to read you cretin. You might learn how to communicate better. Plain fact of the matter, in the 1950's. There were several large Rock N' Roll stars in America. Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Bill Haley and his Comets, and Buddy Holly. Rock N' Roll wasn't even somewhat ignored in America in the 50's. 1955-59, America was Rock N' Roll and Rock dominated the musical landscape. To even try and make the statement that rock was largely ignored in America in the 50's, is nonsensical and it is ignoring musical history. If there's one thing I can't stand it's someone who A. does not have proof the argument they are making B. Does not know their music history C. snipes at others when they clearly get it wrong. And you fit all three. Next time you debate me, have proof. You'll come out a lot better and sound like less of as you say, "cretin".

Are you basing that on the fact that he uses swear words? Big deal
