I like how everyone is jizzing in their pants over this new kasabian album. Sure they've made a great album (8/10) after their average second but to even put them in the same sentence as Oasis is beyond me. This album is great and it has some strong songs but some song though are good go on a bit too long (Secret Alphabets, Take Aim, West Rider Silver Bullet). Kasabian are still one of the lights of the world but to say their passing Oasis is a bit of a reach.

This is a good Kasabian album. Better than Empire but I still like the debut better. It has some good songs but Swarfiga & Fast Fuse are skippable before Take Aim comes on. Id definitely put DOYS first 5 over WRPLA first 5 and then it's about even.

I'd put DOYS first five with WRPLA last five and say it's even; the quality is kind of switched between the two in that I love the second half of WRPLA and love the first half of DOYS.

Yeah, Oasis should be warming up for Kasabian for three nights at Heaton Park

Why aren't we ripping this bollicks to shreds? I presume you know it's Curlies. The twat that led us all up the gaerden path over RM?
He knoes fuck all if he thinks this Kasabian albums is anything other than a good album. It's OK and will not make them mucch bigger than they are. They wil never sell out 3 nights at Wembley on their own

toonfan is right - this is definitely curlies. The way he wanks all over a distinctly average band in Kasabian tells it all.

too many bombs on the new one, sorry. Could've been one of the best 5-6 song EP's ever though.
Guy's are like the "new" Oasis, can't make a complete record to save their lives.

Well, according to reviews by fellow forum mates, then I won't be buying the new album. Got the first two, but considering this new one doesn't take the taste of the piss awful Empire out of my mouth, then the band can forget it. I'll download Fire and that's it.

After the first listen I said it was a good, nothing great. After a few more listens I find this less and less interesting and it definitely doesn't make up for Empire. I won't be listening to this very often.
Their debut is still the best and this album won't have an impact on their popularity.

They're too obscure to achieve any huge success. Anyone who isn't put off by their sound is going to be kept at arm's length by their lyrics, which - for the most part - are practically meaningless. They're just not a user-friendly band.

You don't necessarily have to be a big band these days. I wouldn't consider bands like the Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, or the Arctic Monkeys "big" bands, but they've all managed to sell millions of records. Not 16 million like Morning Glory, of course, but I'd be happy with two million sold if I was in a band.
West Ryder wont make them a huge, worldwide success, but I can see it outpacing the 800k that Empire managed. It's not a life changing record, it's just pretty damn good.
I also find it a bit funny that some of the people calling Kasabian average are the same ones posting in the Embrace thread. But that's just me.
