I wasn't impressed when I first heard it but now I prefer it to the chemical brothers version. Great tune and sounds fresh. Not like the last two albums tunes which were mostly boring recycled shit.

I'm after listening to it about 50 times,...... but to be honest the reason I keep listening to it is because I want it to better. Last night I said it was "brilliant".... I take that back because it's not brilliant or maybe I just didn't make up my mind yet... I'll need time to get used to it. Does anyone agree??? Word for word

Peoople are gonna get tired of it pretty quickly tbh. It's alright but it sounds more like something Noel could do solo or a collaboration.
SO that's Falling down (ok), Aint got nothing (probably ok), a short semi instrumental (30 sec ?) and 8 other tracks.
ERM...

Peoople are gonna get tired of it pretty quickly tbh. thats also my guess when comparing peoples feelings towards the last album now It's alright but it sounds more like something Noel could do solo or a collaboration. well i welcome the change of sound especially when it's well crafted like this. it's a sweet vocal. the tune may be a good filler after all. yes kinda like the whole DBTT record with no bad song or real letdown combined with only a few really shining moments

Sounds like a track off a noel gallagher solo album.
Its too overproduced. Why obscure noels voice so much. Hes known for being a singer/songwriter. doesnt make sense.
And the tune itself is cool, but it feels like an uncomplete song. Never really goes anywhere. Its like noel had a couple bits and just put them to a nice drum loop.
eh, little dissapointed

The processed vocals make the track 10 times more psychedelic too

This afternoon, after having played the song like 15 times since last night.. I confess that I find it a bit too long.. almost 2 minutes too long.. It's still a good song, don't get me wrong, but most of it ain't going nowhere...if you know what I mean (couldn't he find another rhyme by the way?)

To be honest, anyone moaning about this song because it's "different" I have absolutely no time for. If people want more of the same old usual Oasis rock-a-long then there's already 6 albums of that to enjoy. As far as I'm concerned we as Oasis fans should be on our knees thanking the Lord that Noel and the gang have finally tried something different, and praise be, it sounds superb.
If it's any consolation, I expect TSOTL to be more of the usual. It's the third record in a row where Noel has said "it's the most Oasis-sounding song on the album" - the lead-off tracks always are.
A cynic would argue that that's why this song has been leaked: to make it seem like the album will be more experimental than it is.
I really fucking hope not.

I listened to this song sober, and then I listened to it after smoking. All I can say is I completely get it when I'm stoned...It's hypnotic, spacey, yet rockin...which is pretty hard to accomplish. However, it was a bit more I guess you could say boring when I was sober.
I've got a feeling this album is gonna be a lot more psychedelic than alot of people are expecting.

I still disagree with the naysayers. I can't stop listening because it's bloody brilliant. And how is a 7.5/10 or 8/10 song (seems to be the general consensus rating) be filler? An 8/10 tune is a damn solid one. Fillers tend to be forgettable, and skippable tracks (see: Mucky Fingers, FON, ABWR, AQP, PYMWYMI, etc).
If this is indeed considered filler in context of the entire album, then the album is gonna be huge. But either way, it's def not a track I would skip!
And the production is spot on imo. We've all been calling for the BHN sound, and wanted Oasis to move away from their stripped down sound (DBTT). We finally got that BHN sound here, and it's not over produced.
I stand by my other assersation that DOYS will essentially be BHN done right (massive sound, good lyrics, right level of production).

The BHN sound is a load of over-cranked, trebly guitars, layered and layered and layered to madness. This is a big sound, yes. But in no way at all is it like BHN. No chance. Also, Mucky Fingers is a top song! Filler?!? No way! I am in agreement with you on the awesomeness of this song, though. ;D

Why do some people think the lyrics are poor? The lyrics are great - ESPECIALLY the chorus
Catch the wind that breaks the butterfly, I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide, I tried to talk with God to no avail, Calling my name from out of nowhere, I said "If you won't save me, please don't waste my time"
That's just genius, no two ways about it.
Yes, the song is lacking in some areas, but what it lacks is so insignificant that all it does is relegate it from being an Oasis "Epic" ala Live Forever, to an Oasis "Great" ala Gas Panic, instead.

This also absolutely shits on RM... Even STC. But I kno those 2 were nowhere near done. Also, if this is an i-tunes only single, does this mean it won't be a radio single? Meaning we should expect Soldier On or something else as the third single?

Yeah the lyrics are great. ''A dying scream makes no sound'' Only line I didn't like is where hes says ''If you know what I mean''

People moan that DBTT was too stripped down, and that they want a return to BHN sound. Now they claim it's "over produced"? What? Come on! For the record, it's the exact sound we almost all of us hoped for, and we haven't heard Oasis like this since BHN (you could argue SOTSOG). It's class. I enjoy it. Bring on the record. Although Moorish, I disagree with your potential theory - it was released by accident, and we all know the album is going to be in a similar style sound wise. But yeah, TSOTL will be Oasis by numbers, ie Lyla, THT etc - which is fine, and will get some of the debbie downers to shut up, but as long as the album is in the same vain as Falling Down, then I'm happy - and it will be. Roll on tomorrow.

And you know what people? Headshrinker L4E was right. He said a leak would happen suprisingly when we don't expect it. My hat off to you. And for other things, including calling out Lorddontblahblah when he seemed so believable, he got me too.
