Speaking of Atlanta, it reminds me of when the Patrtiots overcame a 28-3 deficit and went on to score 31 unanswered points to win the Super Bowl last year against the Atlanta Falcons, the greatest day of my life.... As far the lack of great shows in Florida, you have great weather, of course you get the occasional hurricane, but for the most part, great weather.....can't have it all; hell, you're probably wearing shorts today, lucky bastard. God bless. Lol if I wasn’t at work I definitely have shorts on. It’s 77 right now. We donget a lot of great shows but unfortunately we do get skipped sometimes because bands don’t want to drive all the way down and back up. Unless they hit Tampa too sometimes it doesn’t make sense for them to. Where are you in Florida, Sternumman?

OASIS is not getting back together. Don’t beleive the hype. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. If it ever happens, I just want tours. They can do their new music separately. JUST. TOUR

I'd only want to see a re-union of it was the morning glory line up. I want: Liam Noel Gem Bonehead on bass. Go check out the Letterman gig where Bonehead played bass on "What's the Story". He was really good. Whitey

That's most of the ass hats on here too. That’s kind of the point. If even Oasis fans think they had two great albums followed by 5 uneven works and basically vanished from USA Fame then how are non Oasis fans associated with the HOF going to react to them? They got a shit USA narrative as a whole. Massive UK appeal though. Gods there but arguing condescending assholes here. We shall see how it plays out over the years but I’d be stunned with a first year eligible induction. I think you're making a great point. Interestingly, I was sitting at work yesterday, blasting the youTube "Some Might Say" from the Carson Daly show and this 40 year old walks in and immediately says "Oasis!" Now, I might expect that from Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova, but it was immediate. Anyway, my point is, there IS a faithful base over here, although small. Liam's resurgence will be a big help because he's making more of a splash at the moment.

I mean that’s basically Oasis perception in the USA. Came, exploded and were gone just as quick. Till this day I still meet people who say Oasis broke up in 1996. Can you believe that shit? The other majority I meet say they had one good album followed by years of duds. That’s the type of false perception and narrative that needs to be altered. Absolutely. They had TWO good albums followed by years of duds. As I said.......

Ok, I'm not going to go song by song, but I've had the album since the day it was released. I piddled with it. I listened to the beginnings of all the songs, excitedly. Got busy and didn't listen anymore that day.
Listened to some whole songs. I thought the ones on the trailer were ok, but nothing great.
I listened to the whole thing in my truck and again, it was ok. I thought to myself "This is the first album from Oasis/Liam/Noel that I will listen to passively. It's just on when I'm doing something else."
Then a week and a half ago, I put it on when I was at the gym. Decent headphones, a solid block of time. Here we go.
It was a TOTALLY different listening experience. I heard textures and I heard space. I enjoyed every single song. I wasn't listening critically. I was just digging it. Lots of folks have used "cinematic" and it certainly has those elements, as well.
I was kind of put off by both instrumentals built off of the acoustic finger picking phrase. Noel's not an interesting enough player to pull that off. I like the 2nd one better than the first, but I kept thinking, did someone in the studio think this was album worthy?
Anyway, too long winded, but I really like the album now. I am also still listening to As You Were.

Interesting how close the numbers are for America. I guess that is all that is left of the hardcore Oasis fans in the USA. About 12-14K of us ready to buy the albums. Loyal bunch. Yup - I bought both on iTunes as soon as I could and probably will now buy the CDs.

Yes it will be harder once the comeback glow fades. I think four things would help. 1) Truly great songs. At least a lead single as undeniable as WOG (or hopefully even better) to force the public to pay attention each time he’s back. 2) High profile public appearances in which he comes off well. Whether it’s a live performance that he nails vocally (like One Love) or funny clips that showcase his trademark humor (like the Apple cider vinegar video) or opportunities to humanize him and show his softer side (Gogglebox), all of these things show the public the parts of Liam we love and stop them from dismissing him as an idiot. 4) Not rushing a new album. After the AYW cycle closes out, Liam should all but disappear for a little while until the next album (yes even from Twitter.) This will give people time to miss him and then be truly excited for his next round. LOL - Did you mean to skip "3)"?

I think, just like Noel, there is a market for Liam. He may not get the same run up that he did for this album, but it all depends on if he's willing to stay in the game without the white hot spotlight.
Who knows what the music business will be like next year, or in five years. If he's patient and puts out good records, there will be interest.

I agree with the post above, though. You can't complain about Liam making it "personal" because he brought the wife into it, then have the wife poking the bear.

Oasis never did b-sides so Ok, not to be dumb, but help me out with this. What do they mean by "Oasis didn't do B sides"? The Masterplan was an album of B sides, wasn't it?

What the band did after Noel left is not relevant. It's clear they were caught by surprise and simply wanted to continue, but it didn't quite work out. I don't think there were any hard feelings, it was just business. There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition, we ran clothes into Canada... made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to build a clothing company out of a desert stop-over for Oasis fans on the way to the West Coast. That kid's name was LÃam Gallagher, and the company he invented was Pretty Green. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him in that company! Someone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew LÃam, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen; I didn't ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!Godzilla bless. HAHA!! Just binged on The Godfather/ Godfather II this past weekend. Well played!

The issue with them " becoming friends or brothers again" is that it would probably only last a very short time. Neither would change. Noel would make fun of Liam and Liam would get pissed and say something inappropriate.. And I don't see them patching things up for Peggy' s sake.. it would be fake. Same thing happened with my mom and her brother, it lasted a couple months after my grandfather passed. Some siblings just don't like each other or get along. As for sara stepping aside for them to mend fences, never going to happen and why should she. She is his wife and mother to his children. This was as genuine interview that we're going to get from Noel. At least he acknowledged the role that they both played in their success. Yes, noel needs to take responsibility for his actions but he's never going to do that. I'm just hoping that he stops slagging off us fans... cause I'd like to go to his concert since I'm missing Liam's. The best Liam can do is to go forward without mentioning Noel or his family and the same for Noel. yep... basicaly this. I feel we re the children of a marriage that broke up. Our father doesnt care about us as much as he did. He likes spending time with his new friends and has not the time nor the interest to do any more parenting. Our mom loves us very much, has taken all above her shoulders to try to keep thing as they were, its bitter thowards dad, and is using us against him. Dad doesnt help because he says nasty things about us because we dont like his new wives, his bachelor aparment, and his new job. He is also acting friendly with other couples kids that we dont like. Most of us are staying with mom, who is turning a little sofocating. But she loves us and spoils us in every way. We can eat dessert every day and lot of chocolate, and buy all our favourite toys (he is playing every song we wished), so its kind of hard. So, Liam is your mum now.....?

Absolutely, but the opportunity to tour with Liam was here. It's the exact same thing Gem and Sharrock are doing with Noel.. just touring. Yet, they did not join Liam's band. Its a job opportunity, but for someone who claim he misses his mates, his band... Didn't seem like he wanted to give them a gig. Just saying. Anyways, it's a happy time to be an Oasis-related fans, we got two very good record this year. Brother will be brothers. Who doesn't fight with their brother ? I think its much more likely that Liam couldn't simply say, Ok its the same 4 people but a solo venture with my name over the top, that wouldn't have cut it with anyone. I think it was a conscious decision to make a totally clean break. Anyone who thinks in terms of Gem and Chris making decisions based on who they'd rather be with is ignoring the obvious. They are touring musicians who have to feed their families. The timing of each project determined where they went.

I thought this was the least cringy when discussing politics, mainly because it seems he's decided not to deeply discuss politics.
I was hoping the "I'm doing my thing and he's doing my thing" line was a one time trot out in the previous interview. We got it the first time.
"It's just an album. If you don't like it, maybe you'll like the next one." I've kind of come to this way of thinking already. As I've said in other posts, I was quite happy with the Noel Gallagher we've had for 20 years. I don't need him going all Bowie on us. I'll buy the album, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be on repeat. I am hopeful that he goes back to being a singer/songwriter, rather than an "artist".

Like both songs. Don't love either of them. Not a fan of a new direction in general. I was very happy with the Noel Gallagher I've been getting for 20 years.

"internet randos pontificating"? What does that mean? Otherwise I get what you're talking about but Noel started it! "Rando" is slang for "random person". Though it may now be outdated and I'm just too old to know it. 40's kicking my ass. Just wait for the 50's.........(54)
