There are some real miserable people on this forum.... it's not 1994-1997 anymore, gotta stop whining and crying about it all and appreciate the fact that we still have music coming outta these two brothers..... If you don't like it then just keep posting in your oasis thoughts for the day thread. Can't get away from 94-97 when the best songs(by a country mile) Liam sang today were from 94-97.

Pains me to see Liam like this. Promoting not very good new stuff and singing DLBIA (I know it was a tribute but still). We need Oasis, not a Liam Oasis cover band. It's sad, whatever happened to the amazing band I grew up with?!
Noel wanted to go solo, so he left. Yeah, I know. It's a sad state of affairs. I remember watching the 94 and 95 Glasto performance live and being blown away just isn't the same anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited for the album - probably more so than for any other post Oasis project so far. But now that it's been brought up - I find it odd that the new songs have been greeted with nearly universal enthusiasm here when Beady Eye got so much (unfair IMO) criticism here. I know we've only heard the studio version for one song so far, and the finished products could alter my opinion somewhat. But so far, I can't help but think that there are at least half a dozen Beady Eye songs that easily tower above the majority of the new songs. For me, only Wall of Glaas and Paper Crown live up to the heights of Flick of the Finger, Off at the Next Exit, Four Letter Word, Wigwam, Back After the Break, The World Outside My Room. But that's just my opinion. Anyway, really looking forward to the album. I just wish more people had been as excited for (some of) Beady Eye's work as I was. The new stuff is avarage. Nothing great at all.

New song? Really like it. Really really like it. And I love those lower register vocals too - a cool effect there. I hear stuff like this and think 'still got it'. It's how much they still want it though. Agreed. The new song sounds like a fully-realized band, and not one that has been messing around with flavor of the month sounds, artists and producers over the past few years (Princess of China, A Sky Full of Stars, all of AHFOD). The only gripe I can think of with this song is the poor mastering job, since the loud, thumping bass sounds static-y when you turn it up loud on a stereo system. Aside from that, this has to be one of the best and freshest songs that they've done since MX. It'd be nice to get an album full of songs like this that are grandiose in fashion and texture, like the first four albums, while also incorporating some modern electronic touches, like the last three albums. What is it with the poor mastering these days? Wall Of Glass is a mess also.

Prefer the rockier live version but it's a definite step up from most of the recent stuff they've been releasing IMO.

Yeah, she's not bad only around 7weeks. Still think there's some sort of mistake and the 5 pregnancy tests are all wrong! Lol. You'll be going for your first scan soon, which really hits it home. We ended up going for a few private scans to make sure everything was alright and it becomes very addictive. Been thinking about going for a private scan, the NHS one isn't for another 6weeks! Think I'll only believe it when I see it.

I hope all is well and I hope she has morning sickness free first trimester! Yeah, she's not bad only around 7weeks. Still think there's some sort of mistake and the 5 pregnancy tests are all wrong! Lol.

I've waited a few days and made sure I listened to the song multiple times (in both studio and live versions) before I made up my mind about it. Sadly, I have to say I'm unimpressed. The song is just... bland, for lack of a better word. I was expecting that bringing outside songwriters would result in more interesting songs, but here everything comes off as calculated and lacking substance. You can tell Kurstin set out to write a "Liam song" that would go well on the radio. It's got everything one would expect: a minor chord progression in the verse, typical dissing lyrics, the Supersonic chorus progression (which has to feature in just about hit song nowadays, in different permutations), and a Lennon/Bowie nod in the instrumental break, which sounds suspiciously like Fame. The chorus feels rather empty and the song is about a minute too long with all the repetitions, but that's another requirement for a hit track, I suppose. There's nothing new to be gained after just a few listens.
I have no doubt the song will do well on the radio, since it was created with that in mind, but the songwriting is just lacking. The song could easily fit in DOYS and that's not a compliment IMO.
The best thing about it is seeing Liam being active again and in good voice, but if Wall of Glass is representative of the new album, he's playing it safe and investing in the short term. He didn't have a lot to lose after Beady Eye and could have done something a lot more interesting and rewarding, perhaps teaming up with a more leftfield group of songwriters.
Anyway, I will wait to listen to the rest of the album. Hopefully they just went for the most middle of the road track to ensure airplay. I still firmly believe that the best thing Liam did post 2000 was Scorpio Rising with Death In Vegas. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Good shout.

So how do you guys feel about Bonehead joining the line up for some gigs? I'm not too sure. It's great for the sake of nostalgia, but if Liam is moving forward I think he should stick with the cool guys and not take any passengers. Cool guys?! Have you heard the new band murdering some of the Oasis songs?

A bit late, eh? From Survation who predicted the result to within 2% on Wednesday...
Westminster voting intention:
LAB: 45% (+5) CON: 39% (-3) LDEM: 7% (-) UKIP: 3% (+1)
(via @survation / 10 Jun) Chgs. w/ GE2017
Mays a dead duck, she can't continue with this crazy DUP confidence deal, it won't work longterm. The Tories must be terrified as well as I think Corbyn would win another election!

I'm actually quite glad Theresa seems to be staying, she's a fucking omnishambles for the Tories. Considering she's got 700+ trade deals to negotiate within just under 2years,the country's fucked. On another note, the DUP are horrific the most backward party around.

Pleased though I am with the result I can't help but feel that Labour (and to a lesser extent the Liberal Democrats) made an error of judgement by refusing to agree to a progressive alliance and step aside in constituencies like Richmond Park. Splitting the vote unnecessarily in a handful of constituencies has allowed the Conservatives (with the help of the DUP) to squeak over the line. Scotland did it ultimately. 13 Tory MPs is unforgivable. Hopefully the sham government May is trying to put together is unsustainable.
