I just get so bored by Morning Glory. Everybody raves about it, talks about it being a brilliant song when, in reality, it's the same song twice and the second time it's boring. As for Cigarettes & Alcohol, if that's the image they wanted, Bring It On Down would have worked just as well and it's a massively better song. The whole track, Cigarettes & Alcohol that is, is poorly produced and is just boring and only there for one reason..that one lyric Do you think the same about the most excellent Cast No Shadow? It, too, is the same song twice. Noel has a real tendancy of using that structure. If I am honest, I find Cast No Shadow slightly boring and can't remember when I last listened to it. It's not as over-hyped about like Morning Glory but it's still not brilliant

It does the job live but to be honest I don't find it a great song to listen to on record, and as Alan McGee was once quoted as saying (in the 'My Magpies Eyes....biography IIRC) it's lucky Michael Stipe wasn't the type to sue over IMO a far superior song- Thank you, at last someone agrees with me

If you were charged with creating an album of Oasis songs that were rarely, if ever, live. What would be your 12 track album?
Mine would be:
1. Bag It Up 2. The Turning 3. Underneath The Sky 4. The Fame 5. Hey Now 6. Thank You For The Good Times 7. Full On 8. (I Got) The Fever 9. My Sister Lover 10. Carry Us All 11. Let's All Make Believe 12. Roll It Over

I'm Outta Time - little more than a rehase of Little James musically to my ears. Wonderwall - just because it's so overplayed Don't Look Back In Anger - same as above Morning Glory - Fun for the first half, second half just rehases the first and adds nothing. All buid-up no substance. Album would be better without it Cigarettes & Alcohol - famous for the one line, nowhere near good enough for a single and by far and away one of the 3 worst songs on Definitely Maybe Go Let It Out - nowhere near the tune everyone makes it out to be. It's ok for sure but it just does not go anywhere. Lyrics are not exactly brilliant either Wow about Morning Glory! I don't think I've ever heard anyone say the album would be better without it. That argument could be made on BHN with the title track. C&A I think was released as a single because it worked perfectly to get across the rock star image that Noel and the management was trying communicate at the time. It's probably THE tune that captures the spirit of DM for me. Even though clearly it isn't the best song. So in that sense it is a smart single. GLIO - I agree. Massively overrated by Noel and fans. I just get so bored by Morning Glory. Everybody raves about it, talks about it being a brilliant song when, in reality, it's the same song twice and the second time it's boring. What songs did you used to really like but now find yourself disliking for whatever reason?
For me, Stay Young is a song I used to throughly enjoy. Now, I find myself skipping it or when I do listen to it, finding it boring and it feels like it goes on for far too long

I was serious about them not being great live. Some Might Say is prolly my favorite song but imho they only nailed that song 2-3 times(Maine Road, The Sea) The version from finsbury Park is gruesome and the gmex version is messed up to. I am also somewhat surprised by the positive reaction Familiar to millions gets around here. Guess I am in the minority though Familiar To Millions is one of my favourite Oasis gigs, along with the Live By The Sea, Gmex 97 and Maine Road. Knebworth as an experience to see them at the height of popularity is up there but the gig, I don't like some of versions of the song

Aside of a couple of exceptions Oasis were quite shit live. The affection for Gem and Andy is based on nothing. I actually agree with this, I saw them live 5 Times from 2002 to 2008 so whilst I didn’t get to see the classic line up and I did see them with what is commonly know as there best live line up. However I have to admit in hindsight that I never came away amazed by their performance (and that includes Finsbury Park and City of Manchester Stadium). I remember seeing bands such as Muse and the Manics and being totally blown away by it and being on a high for days after. With Oasis, it was more the atmosphere and the fact I was watching my favourite band which I loved more than their performance . By the end they look bored, the set was almost the same tour after tour and they were going through the motions. I'd go with this, except for I ADORED the City of Manchester gig but the 09 one at Heaton Park..they looked like they just could not be bothered.

England is not getting out of the group stage... God bless. You know what, I think so too. Panama will beat England and they will finish 3rd with 3 points, a win against the team at the bottom of the group Tunisa. Kane won't score a goal and our only win will be 2-0 with Sterling scoring.

"This is history. This. Is. History! Right here, right now, this is history." "I thought it was Knebworth. Oh I'll pop down to history for the weekend, see Oasis"
Never, ever, fails to make me smile

If the Oasis albums were people:
Definitely Maybe - the person most people love Morning Glory - the person pretty much everyone loves Be Here Now - person who gets hammered every weekend but is still liked on their good days Standing - person who is quite depressed and everyone tries to cheer up Heathen Chemistry - person who tries to hard to be like Morning Glory and is disliked by a lot due to this Don't Believe The Truth - person who was loved when they first turned up but now people find annoying Dig Out Your Soul - person who has up and down days and on a good day people like them but on their down days, people hate them

From NGHFB:
If I Had A Gun Dreary, Noel-esq song that has poor production and awful boring vocals that just whine on. Nowhere near the best on the album and the love it gets annoys me sometimes.
From Beady Eye: The Roller After all the hype, the song is just an Instant Karma rip-off and not a good one at that. Lyrically poor (the chorus is just too repeatative) and Liam's vocals are awful at times on the song. Just as above, nowhere near the best on the album and I am amazed at how many people love the track

I never understood the myth of how adding LAMB to SOTSOG some how elevates it to new heights. It’s only 1 song. Doesn’t really fix SOTSOG issues of 3 weak songs and not enough liam sung music. Plus my copy actually did contain LAMB. The American issue came with the GLIO single. Didn’t improve its chances in the charts. Sooooo true. There is much more wrong with SOTSOG than simply it missing LAMB. Outside of Go Let It Out, it's missing a general sense of joy. It's dark and moody. And tracks 4 (PYMWYMI) and 5 (LJ) back-to-back is probably the worst two song string on any Oasis album. (Muffins and TNOR are up there as well)For the record... I quite like SOTSOG. It stands alone in the Oasis catalogue sonically. Personally, I think it works haing a dark tone. It's the direction Oasis SHOULD have gone in afterwards also

well that's pretty gross spitting at a kid and her dad filmed it whilst driving...that could be a £1000 fine for starters. Get ya wallet out Carragher. Inexcusable. Carragher apologized. He's going to get the sack though. We've all done stupid things. I hope he doesn't. Ok, he shouldn't have done it but he was clearly goaded into it. The dad was filming while driving, laughing when Carragher did it and was so obviously seeing pound signs at the idea of wrecking someones career..it's so wrong if Carragher got the sack

I've said it before and I will say it again. Arsenal will win the Europa League and Wenger will keep his job and be in charge come August and they may sign one or two players but that's about it.
