Gotta share the moment in which I started thinking that something (about the Big O) was _maybe_ going on, but... didn't dare to get my hopes up. Well, right after "Council Skies" was released, on Noel Gallagher Facebook page there was that post, basically saying what's your favourite track on the album, you'd ask us to play. Me being me, replied (and I really do these things rarely): "Live Forever from Deluxe edition, only with another singer". Not that I didn't like Council Skies, but... as a little provocation, you know Well, soon I'd forgotten about that, I rarely go to FB anyways... And then, about a year after that, I got FB notification someone liking one of my posts... went to FB to check what was that about, and lo and behold there was a heart - from The Chief himself Didn's see that one coming it would've been more like him to slag me off or simply tell me to fuck off for not choosing one of his "regular" tracks from his latest album... not to mention "another singer" thing Can't remember the exact day, but it was sometime, say, between may and july this year. Now, that got me a little excited, but, as I said, not too much, as we all know what Big Brother is like... but I put that along with Liam's Half The World Away dedication to Noel I saw on YT, and Noel's earlier "I dare you to call me (...) c'mon you're bigger than that"... and let myself secretly think that something was going on. And then came 26.08.24 with that "mystery" announcement for 27.08.24... and the rest is history. Yeah, Noel definitely has a personal Facebook account called "Noel Gallagher Private" Fuck sake, I sent him £500 after he PM'd me needing money to complete recording for the new Oasis album in Lagos.

Hi this is Liam. Can you PayPal me £500, mate. I need special medicine for my voice or otherwise I can’t sing next year.

I really don't see any new members unless it's a better drummer than Chris Zak and Alan

Any new Oasis album better be good if it is at the expense of LGJS2. Hopefully just delayed rather than totally binned.

Mine is that LGJS was better than the last few Oasis albums so I'd rather hear LGJS2 than a regurgitation of Oasis mk2. On the other hand if they've refound their collective mojo and smash it out the park then bring it on. Time will tell.

If they regain the formula - Noel-written, Liam-sung, they’ll be totally fine.

Any new Oasis album better be good if it is at the expense of LGJS2. Hopefully just delayed rather than totally binned. LGJS was a fine album, but nothing great IMO. I'd much rather have any Oasis album over it, or NGHFB's, even most of Liam's solo stuff. But that's fandom for you, we all like different things. I know we are all hyped for a new Oasis album, and I'm with everyone here on that, but I do hope Oasis being back together means that Noel will finally delivery on the "Be Here Now" rethink album. I'm not a nay sayer of Be Here Now, but I do think that the album would be better off without all of the nonsense tracks in the mix, primarily adding only to the hiss. In many way, I would prefer a new mix go Be Here Now to more demos or live takes, because while there are some great demos out there, I never put them into my listening mix over the originals. I have a few demos in the mix for sure, but never in place of the album version. That said, I do feel that a rethink remix of BHN could have the potential to replace the original album for me, since they would be the same recordings, just no BS.

They both sounded hungry and John certainly had something to prove.

Do you think we'll get a documentary film to go with this tour, along the lines of Lord Don't Slow Me Down or As It Was? The likes of Netflix or Amazon would pay a lot, so it's possible. I guess it also depends on relations in the band. Are they really all getting along, or is it just Liam and Noel staying and travelling separately, only seeing each other on stage to get paid. If it's the latter, then I think they'd be hesitant to be having camera crews following it all.

Which bangers in his solo career or Oasis really constitute 'defiant rock'? You Know You Can’t Go Back Open the Door See What You Find Full On Lock All The Doors Do the Damage Dream On Aka… What a Life? Acquiesce Falling Down Lord Don’t Slow Me Down Mucky Fingers Step Out And every banger that Liam sang, that Noel wrote. They were all sung by Noel first. He’s shown he can do it, so I for one would still like to see the HFBs defiant rock album just as much as I’d like to see a new Oasis album. Calling these defiant rock is like every time either of them says their next album is going to be more punk.

Bit worried about the tour. Body language didn’t seem great in photo shoot and apparently was done in July i think I read so no sighting of noel/liam in public since and not a word from noel. Hardly seems much enthusiasm. I hope it’s not going to be like final tour when travelled on separate buses etc

I hope it’s not going to be like final tour when travelled on separate buses etc I hope they are back as a band but part of me thinks this is just for the money from Noel. 2025 is the year NG can sell the rights to the Oasis song and what better way to increase the value of it by increasing the hype via a reunion tour. I personally hope they are back as brothers and a band as that’s what Oasis was about, community. That would be diluted if this was purely a cash grab.

I don't know but if we do get one I hope that it'll be in colour and not black and white like Lord Don't Slow Me Down was. Please don't start the film with the opening of a bottle. That Was a waste of like 5 minutes in the intro 🙃 To be honest I haven't watched that film in a very long time so I can't remember how the film opens.
