Do we really want a reunion? Seems to me like the moment has passed. They should've done it before Liam went solo and after Noel's second album but now it just seems like they've settled in their own careers and to be honest a new Oasis album could only end up being underwhelming and looking at their bands it'll probably just be NGHFB with Liam on vocals to be honest.

16. Go Let it Out 17. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 18. The Masterplan (Liam Vox) 19. Don't Look Back in Anger 20. Rock 'n' Roll Star Let's go Liam singing the Masterplan. Lol. There are two chances of Noel allowing that to happen. Slim and none It's my fantasy, shush. I'm attending this gig with Kate Upton and Salma Hayek, and Liam is singing The Masterplan.

I don't. What Noel is doing now is far more interesting than what Oasis would do if there was a reunion. And what lineup would it be? I don't give two shits to see Andy Fuckin' Bell ever again. I can already see Gem with Noel. Drummer #17 would sure be exciting though. Liam/Noel/Bonehead/Guigs/Alan or fuck off. That would be worth the astronomical price. And seeing as how that would never happen... The last thing I want is for Oasis to get even more into Liam & Noel & Others on tour! Just stay solo and enjoy yourselves. Liam gets to sing Oasis tunes and Noel will hopefully keep giving us varied interpretations of his Oasis tunes ala Live Forever. What's wrong with that?

No need to. I don't want to listen ever again that slow motion versions of Slide Away or Supersonic without the lead guitar or Roll with it without second vocals, or this 10x Acquiesce they did since 2001... nor this weird hybrids of Wonderwall or that Liam's signature songs sung by Noel. Always hated that Bob Dylan thing about reinterpretating songs... Die Hard 1 rethink 2035 acoustic remaster... dude! really? it's done back then in 1988 and it was perfect (just an example). Personally I love that "like in the album" that Liam's band do better every time. It's clear by far how succesful is for a Gallagher to keep that nostalgia clean and near to "originals".
When you lost it, you're done, but I hope there's something left to make us smile with Councik Skies. Who knows... anything but an Oasis reunion. God no.

It's just Oasis wouldn't be Oasis nowadays, is that simple. Sadly it's no funny at all, it's real. I liked to dream until I was 20-5, when I though there was a chance that Oasis did something as good as 1-2 LP's. Now I see this like Liam Gallagher is the more Oasis of both doing his solo thing so problem solved.
Ask Johnny Marr about The Smiths... some things just did not happened and it's perfectly fine.

Just had a thought, if Oasis were to reform, would they play some of their solo songs too? If they did, I wonder if there's a High Flying Birds song that Noel would have preferred a Liam vocal instead of his own? Which song/s? my kingdom for lock all the doors

In fairness to Bob if you tour for 60 years you're gonna get bored (unless you were Oasis obviously). One thing you can say about Bob is that he's never been a jukebox, I respect him for it.

I certainly don't want an Oasis reunion and both Noel and Liam are so much better on their own now doing their own thing. Besides even if they did reform the question is how long would it last and also both Noel and Liam would probably be fighting about who else should be in the band as Noel would probably want Gem and Chris while Liam would be wanting Bonehead and not Gem. So they would have to sort that out anyway.

Anyway, back to the main topic. What about that song 'Leave The City' that was registered for publishing in the summer?

Literally no-one in the real world outside this forum gives a fuck who is in the band other than Liam and Noel, so to save on wages, they should tour Ian Brown style. Only Noel and Liam are live, everything else comes from a minidisc player karaoke style. Loadsamoney!

I really do wonder what that song was and why it hasn't come out. Presumably someone else has recorded it but you'd think there would have been some press about Noel having written it. Very strange.

Could it have been an earlier title for something that ended up on Council Skies? X

The only way I'd have the faintest interest in an Oasis reunion is if it comes with a new album that's 100% written by Noel and Liam sings at least 8 or 9 of the songs. I have no interest in them just doing a greatest hits tour. I saw Oasis live in 2008 and it was the worst of all the Gallagher gigs I've been to. The band were low energy and on auto pilot, didn't look like they wanted to be there. 100%.

I also don't think the prospect of an Oasis reunion is that exciting. It's never going to be what it was before and both brothers have got their own successful thing now. Oasis was amazing and I love watching old gigs and still listen to the albums regularly but I think hoping for a reunion is a fantasy fueled by nostalgia and it would inevitably be disappointing.
For their personal sake, I would love for them to be speaking again which could lead to some fun one-offs like Liam joining the HFB to sing Live Forever for example or Noel joining Liam to sing Acquiesce. That would be cool. But I'd be skeptical of anything else like a new record or a reunion tour.

As he approaches 60, is Noel even capable of writing an Oasis record now?
Arguable that he wasnβt able to for a long time even while in Oasis.

I don't want them to reform as a nostalgia act, I'd rather have a 3rd incarnation of the band. New members, new albums, trying new sounds together. But I know the older they get the chances are more and more slim. If they ever come back together they'll play safe.

Also, if Oasis ever did get back together how long would we have to wait between albums? Five years or possibly more.

Oasis certainly don't have anything to lose through a reunion. It's not like they quit at their peak like The Smiths or Roses, we remember them at their worst. But that's the hardcore fans point of view. We know that but the general punter on the street will be recalling the peak years and pining for the 90s, oblivious to the endless shitshows of the last number of years.
It would have been entertaining if the shows were disastrous and chaotic in a rock n roll way. But they weren't. They were boring, which is the worst insult you can give to any act. That's my main concern about a reunion. I'm not paying good money to hear Liam's voice shot to bits, Noel staring at his shoes for two hours with a face like a smacked arse, and the rest of them going through the motions. The whole experience would be a sluggish chore for band and attendees. Absolute daylight robbery.
