Probably get hunted down for this but I’d like an album in the vein of Here’s A Candle… To records acoustic albums, you need the flame. He recently found 14 lost Oasis era songs like Slow right? Maybe he don’t need the flame now if he had it then…

I'd rather have an instrumental album full of stuff like Teotihuacan than an acoustic record. There, I've said it

He says it’s for the fans. Is that what the fans really want? In 2003 yes for me. Now? No chance. I feel like it would be good but perhaps end up too “samey”. Yeah. He tends to have a same ness to acoustic songs. Same pace. Same 4 chord. That said, that’s what I like about Noel.

An acoustic album with the full band sounds miles better to me than just him and an acoustic guitar, which is what I figured he'd be going for. Much happier to hear a full album with a fuller sound just on acoustic instruments. We'll see if he actually follows through on it. He's dropped one tune already as a gift, but that's never stopped him from just shelving things in the past.
A nice little run of 'between tours' albums would be nice as we go on. Why wait?

Yeah, I agree with you about it sounding the same. While I love Noel's acoustic songs this is what I fear. However if he it's going to be an unplugged sort of album then it should be good.

As always, it will all depend on how good the songs are.

A Noel acoustic album will be great and beautiful. It might not be one I could listen to on repeat but it will be great

To me that is what Noel does best - write and sing songs on an acoustic guitar. I think a sound similar to The Dreams We Have As Children would be the way to go. Acoustic guitars, bit of melodic electric lead in places, simple drum kit, bit of Rhodes/Wurlitzer, mellotron. Keep it stripped back. So there you have it Noel if you’re reading this, that’s what I specifically want from your upcoming LP. Cheers buddy. Appreciate it.

Give me an album filled with stuff like "the right stuff" or "a simple game of genius". Although "council skies" has grown on me I would love a more huitar driven noel record.

Is anyone surprised by this? I’m surprised people are surprised. We’ll be over halfway through 2024 before he’s finished this tour. He’ll take some time off, he’ll have to sort out what he’s recorded and then he’ll go into the studio in 2025 and it’ll come out March-June 2026.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong, but the way I read the transcript was that was considering an "EP or album" for the ACOUSTIC songs when that project was still alive, and now that's he's scrapped that project it wasn't clear what will happen to those songs. I didn't hear the podcast, but maybe someone who did can clarify.

More than likely as we all know what Noel is like when it comes to releasing new music and he's not like Liam. I get that he wants a rest after a tour has finished but I wish that he would release new music a bit quicker than what he does.

He heard In a Little Why and fell asleep. Good decision if that was going down that path.
Now, nowadays, putting anything online is easy, so an EP before the next record could be the thing to do
