The most definitive proof that the Munich gig was postponed on the 12th and rescheduled for the 27th. Bottom left says it all. If I paid more attention, this could've been solved a year ago. WAPPENSAAL IS A VENUE SEPARATE FROM TERMINAL 1Which means the Munich gig on January 12th happened at the Wappensaal, a smaller venue attached to the airport. Which also means it did happen. A MASSIVE thank you to dlgng22 who actually reached out to someone who attended this gig. This is the message: The story matches the ticket it seems. All the circulating photos that say Terminal 1 on January 12th, 1996 are indeed correct, but the ACTUAL venue name was Wappensaal. Unreal.

All the circulating photos that say Terminal 1 on January 12th, 1996 are indeed correct, but the ACTUAL venue name was Wappensaal. Unreal. I dont know when this was posted to you website oasislive , but holy shit this ad for January '96 gigs has the Munich gig at Wappensaal!! So with all of this, we can conclude: Oasis were billed to play Munich as a possible extra show after Berlin and Bielefeld were cancelled in November after Scott Mcleod and Guigsy left the band. The venue was at the Wappensaal. However, with such a high demand, only a few select people were allowed to go. Oasis would return to Munich in March to play at the much larger Terminal 1, and anyone who had a ticket for the Wappensaal gig that wasn't allowed in, was able to redeem their ticket from January to see them at Terminal 1. Hence why you see January 12th on Terminal 1 tickets for March. Boom. Case closed. The mysterious Munich gig has been solved.

Melody Maker's great article on Oasis' abrupt end to their September '96 tour. Great read as well. Cleared up my thought of a possible Japan dates but it looks like Hong Kong was as far it was scheduled. Very interesting read and what a circus that tour cancellation was in the media. Oasis really helped to sell shit loads of newspapers too.

Great read. That cancelled US tour led to the end of the Aussie/NZ tour where over 80,000 tickets had to be refunded. I mention it in my book! They could been as big as U2 if they managed to complete that down under tour Melody Maker's great article on Oasis' abrupt end to their September '96 tour. Great read as well. I think they could’ve been a lot bigger in the states and in Australia/New Zealand. The hype for Be Here Now would been even bigger as well.

I’d imagine their manager Marcus Russell was pulling his hair out around this time! A bit stressful! The band should have had a holiday after the summer big gigs in 1996 and then come back to do the US, Aus and NZ tours. No other bands like U2 or Coldplay would let this opportunity slip they are far too clinical. They don’t miss opportunities or have what if moments. Perhaps that is one of the reasons that make oasis so special

Perhaps that is one of the reasons that make oasis so special If they would have finished that planned tour somehow, then that would have set BHN release to 98 I believe, because they would have definitely needed to take some holidays after it. It could have changed everything for better or worse, who knows. Maybe the hype wouldn't have been that sky high in 98 anymore, the britpop movement was already starting to be over at the end of 97. Maybe BHN would have sounded different or not. Lots of maybes and ifs. But I'm happy that whatever happened, happened.

Has anyone totaled these all up? There's a tally of cancelled gigs on the homepage of www.oasis-live.net/ (under "the stats") - currently standing at 119.
