I'm at a 7 currently but can see it growing to an 8. I really don't understand all the 10s. If this is a 10 then DLBIA would have to be a 20. DLBIA is indeed a 20/10, yes So based on that, this is really a 5/10 when compared to early Oasis

This was a rare experience for me. Was super disappointed at first listen. Two listens later I loved. It is a very good and fun track

Yacht Rock Staple for me ❤ Where did the “Yacht Rock” thing come from? I’ve seen a load of people posting it on Noel’s social media as if it’s something clever.

It's not even rock, let alone yacht rock. But people expect rock (for some unknown reason at this point) so they don't know what to call a retro pop song. Amusingly, the wikipedia entry on Yacht Rock lists the following factors that make a song Yacht Rock: High production value Use of "elite" Los Angeles-based studio musicians and producers associated with yacht rock Jazz and R&B influences Use of electric piano Complex and wry lyrics Lyrics about heartbroken, foolish men, particularly involving the word "fool" An upbeat rhythm called the "Doobie Bounce".Ticks maybe two of those boxes ...

It seems to people calling it yacht rock don’t actually know what yacht rock is so

I haven’t Rollagher. Is it any good? Maybe the best thing I've ever done! Hopefully a solid 5 for you! It’ll be a 4 at a push even before I’ve heard it. I should work for Pitchfork

That would be a very short record. I like Black star dancing, and dont mind come on outside although it could have been way better. Black Star Dancing is a tune. I love that baseline. That bassline is too ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ for me

Closest he ever came to yacht rock was The Right Stuff, but even that is a full jazz banger that sounds amazing. Noel has never come remotely close to a Christopher Cross or anything like that which, even though there are some good yacht rock songs, is good because that is not Noel's style.

I don't think people know what they're talking about with Noel's music, been that way since WBTM

I've heard some wild claims about Noel's music that are absolutely bonkers compared to the broader music landscape and what Noel is actually making.

That bassline is too ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ for me It sounds nothing like it… I may well have picked the wrong song there. I can’t put my finger on which song it is (it’s probably not even by Queen) but I don’t like it whatever it is.

I’ve never heard of yacht rock. Does it sound like Duran Duran’s Rio video?
