How has this not been announced yet? X They're scrambling to acquiesce to our demands. I hope they have a masterplan. X

If he wanted to make a “best of the last 10 years” that even hardcore fans would buy, make it a live best of. I wouldn’t put it past him to stick a live version of Don’t Look Back In Anger onto a normal Best Of to tempt in the casuals. X

Once this became a RSD related release, I truly don't know why anyone expected news before mid-May.

Once this became a RSD related release, I truly don't know why anyone expected news before mid-May. Because literally every other RSD release has been announced? X (And I’m impatient)

Is this Carl Marsh an average fan who thinks a best of is “worth the wait”?

I’m betting these are live recordings across various cities and that’s what’s “worth the wait”

I feel live recordings and records are pretty boring if I wasn't there then, so to speak. To me live music is all about being in the moment with the artist under the same roof.
Now an occasional reworking of a tune or a completely new tune, or a tune that is hardly ever played live (ala Alone on the Rope, While The Song Remains the Same, etc.) is nice to hear or, even better, watch on Youtube. But otherwise, blech.
The fact that they re-record some parts in studio further drove the nail in. Now I can't even enjoy it because it's not even how it was played on the night! If no gig is perfect, then fine, put tunes from different gigs as was mentioned in the post prior, but still...I'd rather studio recordings of rarities, demos and the like. Sing me something new and all that. The end.

Yeah a live compilation would be as uninteresting. I mean, a few iconic live recordings can be, like Knebworth. And even that...
The MTV unplugged, yes, because it was completely different.
But a live best from NGHFB ? Yawn.

Does sound like a greatest hits but hopefully it’s live versions.

I'm still hopeful for a Neil Young 'Decade' style release. A Best Of spliced with unreleased archive tracks to keep everybody happy. Screw live versions.
This would be a perfect way for Noel to offload some of his older stockpiled songs.

'Back The Way We Came' sounds more fitting a title for a covers album in my mind.
Maybe it's 10 years worth of covers that Noel has secretly been recording? and will include Mind Games?

Guys, trust who you wanna trust but it IS a best of, it's been said like 5 pages ago
That doesn't mean there can't be some nice surprises on it

Once this became a RSD related release, I truly don't know why anyone expected news before mid-May. I guess because all the artists I like who have always participated in this event announce their involvement the day the RSD list is published. What Noel is doing is kinda unusual in that regard. Granted it seems this best of is part of a larger event with a RSD exclusive color vinyl. We shall see.

A best of with a new single, for which that new video was shot. Sounds logical.
