insane40 "best of" I can't believe 10th anniversary I wouldn't mind (since it's for RSD and I never cared about that day at all) The best of isn’t tied specifically to RSD. It’ll have a wide release with just special vinyl colors for RSD. I don't care how many how many coloured vinyls Noel's releasing of this I'm still not buying it and I have no desire to. |

I’m beginning to feel old. I always considered myself a younger Oasis fan because DM came out when I just turned 13. Now I’m 39. Yikes!!!!! Same here, but i dont feel that old. 40 is the new 30  Cant believe NGHB is ten, and MG is 26 ! wow... 1995 though 1997 was very special. And 2011 / 2012 had anew energy too, NG gigs were great back then. 1995 to 1997 was immense..uni..Oasis came into view, First heard the album MG then brought DM which seemed so very different but got me utterly hooked..naughties, boozing and The Gallagher brothers. Tried in vein to get my four year old into Noels solo stuff...he's having none of it. All he ever wants is Stone Roses - Fools Gold (Did kind of condition him with it and many...hate this wank expression "indie" tunes when he was tiny) Actually queued...outside a real shop..for the Be Here Now CD..Back when Jesus was a kid |

Why are you treating this as if he's not working on a new album as well Sure, i think he´s curerntly working on a new album. But If he finally put out a "Best of" album right now it´s a totally pointless release. Just an opinion... Easy to forget that the 30 or so hardcore fans who post here daily--and could quickly name every single unreleased song or even snippet of song that Noel (or anyone even vaguely associated with Noel) has ever mumbled under his breath about existing--are not really who drive sales and streams. Masses of casual fans do. So it's not pointless at all from his POV. That said, no one knows yet what sly enticements for the hardcore he'll throw on there. Might as well keep dreaming people, at least till there's a track list. |

I have my doubts, it's a niche. It's a release for a gap year, just to say hello im' here and until next year. It costs nothing to make, so if id doesn't sell that much, that's ok. Plus best of records just lay here in amazon catalog for years and in record shops, so sales are not that important in 2021. It will be bumped upfront every november and sell a bit at every christmas for the next 10 years. goal achieved. |

Plus best of records just lay here in amazon catalog for years and in record shops, so sales are not that important in 2021. For sure, NGHFB (new, old or rare) is never, ever gonna outsell Oasis (new, old or rare) – not even if Noel has the purplest patch in the history of purple patches. Them days are over. Different expectations now. But he’s still a major artist with multiple #1 albums and plenty of casual fans all over the whole wide world. There’s all manner of people who if they hear Holy Mountain again after a couple years are going to go “oh yeah, that song, I’ll have that.” (Not me, but that's a different story.) And if there’s a catchy new song on it kicking things off… Noel is in the charts as summer kicks off. It is a good release for a gap year .. but I'm thinking there’s a chance that he had whatever this album is in his plans even before the pandemic since he was already talking about taking a long touring break. |
