I don't know if anyone has mentioned that the Obis for the Japanese CD releases still show that Wonderwall comes from the Sunday, August 11th concert, rather than the 10th. The discs themselves have the same August 10th version that appears everywhere else though. I wonder when they made that change.

I would rather put the soundchecked of Its Getting Better Man or My Big Mouth instead.

What makes the Japanese edition unique is that it’s actually Noasis.

Wonder why the guitars were literally omitted from the audio of IATW on the Saturday? Just the brass sections an the rest of the band drums, bass guitar.
So I've got 13 tracks from the Sunday out of the 20 & 12 from Saturday in HQ FLAC Audio

Great point i think there is things going on with the Audio we haven't got the full story i honestly believe 2 different sources were used the audio seems to get better and change from It's getting better man until the end of the show and i'm really puzzled why when Noel speaks it sounds like his speaking down a telephone like and not clean audio very strange !

Why didn’t Oasis play the lead intros of certain songs in the early days? At Knebworth they just belt out the chords on Morning Glory and Some Might Say, songs where I think the intro is important to the song. Thoughts?

Bonehead is great at playing power chords and was a vital part of their early sound but he wasn’t more than an average guitarist. They were a technically better band with gem. Morning glory around 2005 with zak on drums was massive

Some Might Say starts with that blues riff & chords before the solo begins. Noel didn't want Bonehead playing the intro, because Noel was supposed to be the lead guitarist. He wanted the spotlight and cameras to be on him when the song started. Just my personal theory.

But at Knebworth they actually played this intro as it should be, even though they usually didn’t in the early days.

Its so true, I've said it for 25 yrs Bonehead was a "very average" guitarist & when playing Live you his monitors definitely had issues. No different from in ways of Ringo whose pots and pans/baby technique, Pete Best was much better. Gem may not have been accomplished/big time guitarist at the time but was x100 times better. Tony was a decent drummer but the problems were there on DM Alan again is x10 better.
Oasis in terms of the sound, Live improved greatly, Guigsy was a very good bass player and hit the chords right. Andy actually is also a very good guitarist probably even better than his bass playing. Gem took more control as Noel was tired of being lead, he said in 1994 he preferred to be rhythm.

Can't wait for the 50th anniversary of this concert. We'll get a new mix by Gene Gallagher, including soundcheck, The Swamp Song and the full uncut banter between the songs. ... and mastered by Marc Coyle who is basically deaf but still uses the brickwall limiter he bought from Owen Morris so this makes this release louder than a Marilyn Manson & Metallica CD combined. If you scan the .wav file in your favorite daw - all you see is a vertical block.

My copy of the Japanese edition CD has finally arrived. I didn't follow the whole discussion about this release but has the Japanese version a different mastering than the normal one or does it just look cool af?

I don't think there's a difference in mastering, but I'm not an expert. On inner sleeve it says: CD 1 Columbia ** Acquiesce * Supersonic * Hello ** Some Might Say ** Roll With It ** Slide Away ** Morning Glory ** Round Are Way * C&A * Disc 2 Whatever * Cast No Shadow * Wonderwall ** The Masterplan * DLBIA ** My Big Mouth * It's A Getting Better (Man!) ** Live Forever * Champagne Supernova ** I Am The Walrus ** I also received a small picture card (exactly same as the poster) as a bonus.

For Some Might Say Noel could've played the intro chords and then move to the "solo" right after the drums and rhythm guitar kick in. He just prefered not to do it.

I just posted that photo because the packaging/obi says that Wonderwall is from the Sunday concert, but the actual audio is from the Saturday. I'm just wondering if they initially planned to use the Sunday audio, like is done in the film, and then switched it back to the Saturday recording for some reason.

I'm still surprised at Radio 1 doing the recording of both shows.....
What was the source then used for the Movie Sound maybe the bands multitrack recording sounds very good or is it just more isolated knowing this was going to the big screen and had to take more care in the mix ?

Somebody had to pay for and supply the gear to record it. If Radio 1 wanted to broadcast it anyway, then they record it, Oasis gets a nice professional recording with no cost/effort to them, everybody wins. The _mix_ was all done new for the film, it was just putting the tracks onto tape that Radio 1 did.
