In the last one, Noel heard a song and said it was "suicide set to music". He loved the sound of the guy. The song really look like (the last albums) from David Bowie. He said those kind of songs will be heard all over his next album. Suicide songs? Dead To the World was not very positif ^^'

Bad news - sounds like he's scrapped the acoustic album not finished the podcast yet but heard that. He might try and repurpose them but sounds like he felt they were too down, too moody. He's starting a new record on Monday which will be a rock record. On the plus side he seems serious - he has the album title and has already shot the album cover (tbf - on his iPhone, but still). Sounds like its a picture of Sonny in a las vegas desert?

When's Noel going to learn that he needs Liam to release a rock record. Stick to the acoustic songs mate (and thats not an insult)

And then wonder why he's not diverse or doesn't try anything new.

I can understand that even Noel might think that an album of acoustic song is too moody and samey... just make it an EP then!
Five or six tracks, digital release and 12'' vinyl... Done.

I didnt want the acoustic album first. I want the raging rocker album.

It does sound like Council Skies was the divorce album and he doesn’t want to make another record in that headspace.
Talk Tonight is a serious contender for my favourite ever oasis song but a whole album of that stuff probably would be a bit dull.
An album of You Know We Can’t Go Back and She Thought Me How to Flys though? Sign me up!

I'm all for artists progressing, but Noel tried it and it was shit (imo of course) Entitled to your opinion of course but the frustrating thing is I fucking love that album and all his EPs and want him to try new things to his hearts content, but Noel doesn't listen to the fans who love it. He listens to you lot who think it's shit. So we get acoustic. We get ballads. We get safe and sound. Even in this podcast he told Matt not to get too excited, cos it's not like he's writing Bring It On Down or Welcome To The Jungle (joke obv). So he's no doubt gonna write something plodding to stay safe and not upset anyone. He did make a joke about it being more like Welcome To The Rotisserie In Waitrose which was pretty funny. But still...irks me the way he takes criticism so much to heart. It's not like the criticism makes him a better artist or anything. I'd be happy if he writes stuff along the lines of Full On and Do The Damage.

I don’t care what Noel does so long as he releases music. And more frequently.

I thought as soon as some water passed under the bridge, he would drop the acoustic album.

I didnt want the acoustic album first. I want the raging rocker album. I'm 100% with you. I'm dying to hear some rock stuff, fast paced that makes us jump at concerts. Remember his first tour when he was playing Freaky Teeth and it wasent it even a b-side and still blew the roof of every gig? That's what I need. I mean most of Noel's recent tunes are acoustic, not fully ok, but he plays his acoustic guitar on 90% of the live set. We had very few rockers down the years... Maybe There She Blows (which I love) and Come On It's alright. On WBTM we have Black And White Sunshine which its not very good IMO and then you go all the way back to CY and NGHFB which have a few decent rockers. We need more! I absolutely love Dead To The World but I'm not sure I want an album full of TTFAWTBAG and Easy Now's.

I'm fine with his decision AS LONG AS the acoustic songs he wrote see the light of day as B-Sides -- or even re-purposed as non-acoustic.
I can't live in a world where only hardcore fans hear the beauty of a song like Just Let It Come Down Over Me.

I was always more excited about the rock record, but given his rate of follow-through, I'll believe it when I hear it.

Fingers crossed he actually follows through with that as I'd also love them to see the light of day.

Quite curious about this, although fully aware that we're probably 2 years away anyway
I was really excited about the acoustic record because I'm a huge fan of that stuff from him + I thought the most honest/straightforward and heaviest tunes lyrically-wise were the best on Council Skies (I'm talking Dead to The World and Think of a Number here). I also know how serious he is about his music sounding uplifting somehow, so I'm not exactly shocked now things seem to be better for him he's not willing to down the bleak road. Still hope we get an EP at some point, there may be a gem of two in there.
As for the rock record, I don't really know what to expect when he says rock. If it's all in the same ballpark as Freaky Teeth or The Man Who Built The Moon then I'm up for it. I'm not sure he's capable of doing a proper Oasis-y record now though. An album full of Lock All The Doors type tunes would be a step back for me.

Surprised no-one has mentioned what Noel said about Kyle from OCG having 3 unreleased songs from 1997 In a nutshell he said he had them on USB but had nothing to play them on , send them to him again on CD (WTF ) And he isn't interested in hearing them basically Personally I now think Kyle should just release them, Noel (and management) have had them back and done nothing with them, and are not interested. So Get them out there imo
