I love these podcasts - good that Matt treats him like a mate and doesn’t let Noel get away with grumpy dismissive answers!

Nice to see that poor bullied Noel still has the strength to laugh 🤭

Yeah, I like these podcasts. Noel is funny as fuck when talking to Matt or Russell. A few on here moan at Matt trying to get paper inches with his questions, but Matt isn't arsed about any of that.

That Liam reference, while I'm sure it will cause LG to go wild on Twitter if he hears it, was fucking funny. Demi Roussos, ffs OK what did he say about Liam? I'm curious now.

Noel said "he looks like he's gone a bit Demi Roussos in lockdown" It was said in jest, but google Demi Roussos and it's not far off. They were taking the mick out of Noel's bike helmet and then it led onto Liam also having been photo'd I think.

Does he actually still work for Radio X? I wasn't sure if he did or not. I didn't think he worked there since RB left... EDIT: Either way, that station is Radio Gallagher. Think it was Noel himself or Russell Brand who said you're never more than five minutes away from a Gallagher tune (and it's true). As a journalist myself (in sports) you can say your disappointed but at the end of the day you'll know as well as I do that it's basically a clickbait site - and that headline will get more clicks. Simple enough.

You just can't make jokes about someone who is fat if has disease that cause weight gain.
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis and Hashimoto's disease, is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is gradually destroyed. Early on there may be no symptoms. Over time the thyroid may enlarge, forming a painless goiter. Some people eventually develop hypothyroidism with accompanying weight gain, feeling tired, constipation, depression, and general pains.

Matt started it and runs it totally on his own with a mate as a producer. If Radio X have promoted it it may be because Matt still works there but it could also just be that he put in ads for Radio X or whatever - I genuinely don't know. As far as I know there has been no reference at all to Radio X though.

All Noel said is he's gone a bit Demi Russos. It was funny. Just like Liam calling Noel a potato or whatever. Regardless, Liam's 47 and probably just isn't doing as much exercise as he used to do a few years ago. Doesn't matter what 'condition' you have - losing weight is pretty simple. You need to burn off more calories than you take in. That's it. Trust me, I know. Liam's been on tour for the past three years and clearly isn't doing as much exercise as he was before that. He could probably drop it all off if he went back to doing that but it's not like he needs to as long as he's healthy. Maybe this enforced break from touring will do him good.

And Hashimoto's (or indeed any condition involving an underactive thyroid) alters your metabolism, meaning it takes more activity to burn off calories. It can also cause water retention, making you look puffier and therefore fatter than you actually are. A course of corticosteroids will mimic those symptoms if you want to try it out for yourself and see "simple" losing weight is for people with diagnosed underactive thyroid conditions.

A course of corticosteroids will mimic those symptoms if you want to try it out for yourself and see "simple" losing weight is for people with diagnosed underactive thyroid conditions. What d'you reckon would cause Liam to put on more weight, at the age of 47: - Doing less excercise than he was (clearly he's not running 8 miles a day - he's said himself he isn't plus wasn't he having some pain with his joints - again, a common thing if you're running that much), combined with having been on tour for the last three years on and off, not having as much time to dedicate to being as healthy as he was before the comeback - Or an illness which may cause him to retain some weight/bloat a bit It's likely a combination but one is much more likely to have an impact than the other, and it isn't the illness. I've always fluctuated with my weight. My metabolism is slow and I have a really low heart rate (which isn't bad, just means I have to work harder to get it up into a fat burning zone etc). It's always been the case, but in the last few weeks of lockdown, at least one positive for me is I've actually lost around half a stone because I've been doing 2-3 hours of exercise every day. I'm fit enough to do it and if you have the time to dedicate to doing 2-3 hours of exercise every day, you'll lose weight. Let's face it, in normal life most of us don't have that time, at least not every day. Celebs often do if they are - as Liam wasn't betwen 13 and 17 - 'inactive' (for lack of a better term) or I popping in and out of the studio etc. Ignoring personal trainers and stuff cause I can't see Liam doing that, or having a nutrionist, he was just clearly taking the time he had to really look after himself. In the last few years, because of touring, he hasn't had that as much. And he's getting older. So it all adds up. He doesn't look bad but 2017/early 2018 Liam looks like a different person. Regardless, it's the beard that's making him look like Demi Roussos. He can pull it off, it's Liam, still makes it look cool enough, though he could be like Gandalf by the time lockdown ends.

Hiding behind a podcast to dig him out on something he’s incredibly sensitive about. He even had to “remind” Matt to tell us about the XXLG gag, no balls to even say it himself.
Not cool.
Yeah, Liam has plenty to say but at least he has the mettle to put it out there and call him a c*nt as directly as he can.
Didn’t enjoy the podcast, didn’t finish it. I’m done with all the Bono, McCartney, Cobain name dropping shite.
Tell us about the music Noely, you’re better than this.

Oh come on now... Liam never ever holds back and says and does horrible things yet he gets bloody praises from some people who seem to think they'll be mates with him or something but then Noel, when asked, makes a comment where he says Liam's gotten fatter (as a lot of people during this period) and OUTRAGE!! Liam's got some of you lot by the balls...... you can't have it both ways. Either both brothers can shit on each other of none of them can. I'm really tired of the polarization of this... Can we just drop the useless outrage... let them talk shit... igotflair Yeah I rarely enjoy those podcasts, or any podcast with this format for that matter... I'm fucking not interested in two mates chatting together, even if one of them's Noel Gallagher. I agree, those "Oh I spoke to Bono then Rod Stewart then...." stories are uninteresting...

I enjoyed the earlier episodes where they talked about what kind of comedy Noel likes and stuff like that. But when the host starts asking about Liam it usually leads into the same old insults. (It's the same when Liam does interviews, it's boring when he starts going on about Noel.)

Noel may not have got himself to a polling station on Election Day and drawn a little cross by his local Conservative candidate’s box, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a Tory. As our very own Escapist said at the end of last year, Toryism is a frame of mind. And Noel reeks of it.

Feel like people are greatly overestimating both exercise and thyroid conditions in affecting your weight; I don't doubt that it affects it, but nothing beats the laws of thermodynamics, eating less is King in weight loss.

Well, if you do exercise you're going to be healthier - and the more exercise you do, the more you can eat without putting on weight/getting out of shape, whatever. It's basics. I really couldn't care less about Liam's weight. I do prefer him to look good, as opposed to verging on homeless, like, but you know, he can do what he wants, it's his life. It was a throwaway comment in the podcast. Noel said he'd gone Demi Roussos, Matt said XXLG

As our very own Escapist said at the end of last year, Toryism is a frame of mind. And Noel reeks of it. This is genuinely one of the most ludicrous things I've ever read. It's nonsense. If you want to vote tory - and you have every right to do so, it's a free country - then you can do. If you don't, then that's fine too. Vote how you want, or don't vote. I always prefer to use a vote because people died for my right to do so but at the same time there's also the right not to. Noel said in the latest he hasn't voted for 10 years now. I don't agree with him doing that but it's his right. That doesn't make him a Tory. Because by that logic, anybody who doesn't vote Labour - in your eyes - is a Tory; whether they voted Green or Lib Dems or for Lord Buckethead. And that's a huge reason why Labour got so badly beat in the last election - this black and white, us v them attitude and trying to treat political parties like football teams. Yet the Momentum supporters can't/won't see it. So what's the point. I've been told I'm a Tory on here, despite being a lifelong Labour voter (for any election I've been able to vote in). And btw, what is 'toryism'? Please give me a definition? Wanting what's best for yourself/your family? Or do you think Noel is this ultra evil, tax-avoiding millionaire because he previously suggested people might be worried about their jobs after all this coronavirus stuff is over?

He's just asking questions which have been sent in on Instagram that Matt then selects, and a few from Matt too. The McCartney thing was quite funny and he was asked a question (by a listener) about it - I'd never heard the one about the Milan dressing room before, and then Matt asked when the first time Noel met him was and we got the same story of in 1994/95 and Twiggy answering the door etc. I think it was Matt who then talked about Nirvana because he mentioned Post Malone's covers. Not sure how you can answer a question about Nirvana without mentioning Cobain? In regards to 'hiding' - it's not really hiding if he's said it on a podcast which is then put out in the public realm, is it? I know we'd both rather nothing be said but do you mean it would be better if he actually tweeted Liam and called him Demi Roussos. FWIW, if Liam can call Noel a potato/midget/David Cameron (all funny), I think Noel can say Liam looks like Demi Roussos (which he did in that photo with the beard). Radio X/whoever else will use that as the headline because it's gold for clicks. Just like it is when Liam slags Noel or Sara off. They're both big boys (no pun intended), they can handle it. If Liam's really sensitive about his weight, he'll lose it like he did last time won't he. Like I said, I've been in the same boat (without the millions of £ to soften the blow, mind) - I'm sure he'll be fine.

So yeah, I’d rather he did tweet him about “not fucking isolating himself from the sweet trolley is he.” No balls. Maybe Liam should sack off his top dollar immunologist and endocrinologist and just read the advice in this thread. Sorted. Oh, and no amount of millions can make up for debilitating rheumatoid pain. I’m not going to comment on his weight explicitly.
