Another rule I dont understand.
Soon in Britain if you've had the 2 vaccinations you don't have to self isolate after going on holiday? What's the point in that? You can still catch / pass on the virus if you've had your vaccinations. The whole point in isolating was not to pass it on.
Seems idiotic to me that

Restaurants and clubs will close at midnight. Some clubs have decided to close beforehand.

Yeah, it's absolutely stupid. Honestly I don't know what's wrong with these governments, they're all as bad as each other by the sound of it. I don't think it's not only the government to blame, but the people after all. I mean, who goes to a club/disco just a few hours after you got vaccinated? and gathering with all your friends, hugging each other etc? Use your brain, I would say. Yeah, true and it's stupid. But governments seem to be easing lockdown rules when we're still dealing with all this and cases are going up again.

I've just read on the BBC news pages that doctors have warned that Covid cases will get worse before they get better. And, Boris Johnson is expected to make an announcement on Monday about if the rest of the lockdown will be eased. Well it can't go ahead with cases rising like they are at the moment. Infant I can see another full lockdown coming before long.

Despite a lot of talk about it, vaccination is still not very high in parts of England. Read today that in Sheffield inner city only 8% of the population has had two doses. That's not gonna do it. Vaccination rates among 25-29 are also pretty low at just 55% in the entire country and those are prime spreaders. Since vaccination is highest among old people, the highest death rate for Covid in England is now in the 45-60 age group (unvaccinated 80s and 90s rockers, watch out.) All this is fixable, but will it be fixed?

I read the other week on the BBC news pages that it's younger people who were spreading the virus but yeah they need to get their vaccinations done and the same goes for any older people who haven't had them yet. And, something needs to be done to get it fixed otherwise cases will keep going up. And, let's not forget though there are people who won't have their vaccinations which doesn't help the situation.

I read earlier on the BBC news pages that an old lady who died who was 90 died with double Covid variant of the virus, the Alpha and Beta types which were first identified in the UK and South Africa. The woman who died in Belgium had not been vaccinated. But even though it's rare, similar dual infections are happening.

So the rest of the lockdown restrictions will be lifted on July 19th which is absolutely bloody stupid at the moment as we're in the middle of a third wave. Honestly what planet is our useless government on? I read that there's many people who don't want it yet.

Our gouvernment publicly apologized for lifting the restrictions, actually.
Seems a bit pointless.

I don't care what Boris Johnson says about after July 19th because I will carry on as I have been doing, wear a face mask and social distance where ever possible as its not always easy in a shop. But face masks will stay with me when I'm out and about. Bugger Boris.

The number of positive tested people are dramaticaly increased past week over here, on the highest number since December 2020 just before lock down. Our government apologised yesterday for lifting the restrictions too quick. Meanwhile people are rushing to their holiday destinations before this country becomes a red zone.
Human being is the dumbest creature.

I see that Boris Johnson is under pressure to keep face masks compulsory but will he listen? Perhaps not but then again this government have had so many u turns it's hard to keep up with them.

Wales in doing the same as England on the 7th August Don't know at all what your rollout is like, but an extra 3 weeks can mean a lot more fully vaccinated people!

Am I the only one that kind of likes the masks now? I'll probably just keep wearing mine in most public spaces indefinitely like they do in Korea or China. Especially when sick.

I read on the BBC news pages earlier that cases pass 50,000 for the first time since January. This isn't good and now isn't the time to be easing lockdown rules.

To be honest I'm so used to wearing a face mask when I'm out and about, it just doesn't bother me anymore. To me they're part of me whenever I want to go out.

In Los Angeles, the mask mandate is back as of Sunday due to rising hospitalizations (among unvaccinated mainly.) Delta is doing its thing here now.
But what is happening in England is pretty insane. Ending all restrictions just as hospitalizations are skyrocketing is a weird form of public health. Apart from an expected rise in deaths (which the government seems willing to accept), England can screw the whole world with these ultra-high infection rates because the virus will happily mutate away with all that activity. Fingers crossed it doesn't find a way to get past the vaccine. Take care out there if you are not yet fully vaccinated.

Our government said everyone who wants to be vaccinated, would be so somewhere in August.
That's why I don't really understand why they didn't wait until then to lift the restrictions.
