I read on the BBC news pages last night that yet another new strain has been found in the UK. However, they say that it's not of concern at the moment but it's on the watch list. I think that they will probably keep finding these new strains because it's certainly not over yet.

So I haven't really seen it mentioned here. So I thought I'd start a thread Is anyone worried about this? Does anyone have it here or know anyone with it? What's it like where you are? Thoughts please Just noticed this post starting the thread is almost a year old. What a piece of history it is now after 12 strange, unpredictable, sad and world-changing months.

So tomorrow there's another press conference, but everything always leaks beforehand so we already know curfew will be extended with at least 3 more weeks. Sigh.
Looks like they're stretching the rules until the majority is supposed to be vaccinated, which is okay but at least tell us. People aren't stupid (most of the time anyway) and a bit more perspective and transparancy wouldn't hurt.

I'm not being homophobic, but if I can't go to a march on the 25th April to remember my grandfather, why were the SCG allowed to have a likely super spreader in the Mardi Gras? People may think I am but I'm not.

It's been a horrible year or so this past year having to deal with all this. It's the worst thing we've ever had to deal with in terms of viruses anyway. I think that it's always going to be there in the background even when everyone has been vaccinated. And, there's still a lot which we don't know about this virus.

Although cases are going down here the UK's chief medical adviser has warned that it's still not over yet. He said that easing lockdown too soon could lead to a substantial surge in infections. The thing with this virus is that there could still be a big turn around with people who are vulnerable and haven't had the vaccine yet.

I read on the BBC news pages that experts have said that it's normal to feel unwell after you've had the vaccine such as a headache and tiredness plus a sore arm. But it shouldn't put people off having the vaccine. The only thing I had was my arm hurt where the needle went in but that only lasted for two days and it went after that. But I was fine other wise. I'll have to go through it all again when my 12 (well 10 now for me) are up.

So I was visiting one of my best friends yesterday. We were having dinner and all of a sudden her boyfriend yells "FUCK". Turns out his corona app went off, saying he had been near someone with corona.
Apparently neither my friend nor me have to get tested or go in quarantaine, but that seems very unlogical to me. I mean, she is his girlfriend. They live together ffs. And I've been in their car and sat next to her, without a mask. My mom was supposed to visit me today and although I don't officially need to take any precautions and the bf probably doesn't have it, I'm not comfortable with having people over now.
To me it makes more sense to just go in isolation until the bf has his results back, even though it might not be necessary, than taking the risk of infecting my mother (who is in a risk group).

I would go into self isolation for 10 days if I were you. Now I always wear a mask if I have to drive in somebody’s car. People might think I worry too much, but I take safety, for myself and the people around me, than sorry. Stay safe! Just saw about the anti Covid 19 restriction demonstration in The Hague today on news. A woman said she’s against wearing a mask, having 1,5 m distance from others and was moaning she can’t hug her friends/family. Good lord, I’m bloody tired of these kind people.

It's the same with any sort of medication and over the counter medications they all can have side effects. But I think that people are stupid if they don't take up their chance of getting the Covid vaccine but sadly I think that there will be some people who won't have it.

So it looks like in April or by then there's going to be a shortage of supplies of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine which is worring. However the Government says that the vaccination programme is still on course. Well I don't believe anything this useless Government says because they tell so many lies they can't be trusted.

I see that the UK no longer has the highest death rate in Europe as other countries like Spain for one have taken over. However our death rate in the UK are still far too high though.

Number of postive tested people over here is increasing (again) like Germany and Belgium. How on earth will they be albe to ease restriction like opening outdoor cafe's?

That is absolutely disgusting but sadly it's not surprising. These football fans are selfish as they had been told to stay at home but of course they wouldn't listen. I hope that the police officers who now have Covid thanks to these idiots recover well.
