Lost my Gran to Covid Wednesday night, got to FaceTime her Tuesday morning and while she couldn't talk and only managed to touch the screen it was good that we got to see each other before the end. She was, without question, the most decent person I've ever known and I'll miss her terribly but at 93 she had a great run. My thoughts are with anyone else that has lost some close to them, whatever the reason, during these times when we're unable to comfort or get comfort from our family and friends. So sorry to read this Tom. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Meanwhile my friend and his wife in Manchester are getting better now. I really hope his wife's parents will get better soon.
This pandemic seems unreal when you don't get involved with, but it is real, so stay safe everyone and be there for your loved ones.

I see that Boris Johnson is going to let one vister to be able to go and see a relative in a care home and hold hands but they will have to be tested first and wear PPE. I'm sorry but I think it's still far too early to start thinking about things like this just yet.

Well, I've just made an appointment for my first dose of the Covid-19 jab and I've booked it for this coming Thursday afternoon. I didn't even have to chase them about it as I had a text from my my doctor's Medical Practice. I'm quite surprised actually even though I'm in the priority group.

I see that Boris Johnson has set out his road map to ease us out of the latest lockdown. Well, I don't and can't trust him one bit. After all he tells so many lies, has had so many uturns and is so incompetent it's hard to believe anything he says.

I think lots of folk are missing the small print on this plan which says βnot beforeβall of these dates theyβve announced. Going to be a lot of disappointed people I fear. Sturgeon setting out her plans for us today, letβs see whatβs in store for us.

Curfew will be extended for 3 more weeks over here, but hair dressers are allowed to open from next week. It's still a long long way to go unfortunatelly.

Oh I know that there's not before dates etc on Boris Johnson's road map but with all the mess he's made with this virus so far it's very hard to trust him. And, as for Sturgeon, yeah, I know was setting out her plans today.

I've just read that vaccination for the 80+ has been definitely good effects over here.

I don't know why our Government has adopted the twelve weeks wait between the two vaccinations as no other country as far as I'm aware have adopted this approach. It just seems a bit daft to me. This is why I made my appointment for this week because the sooner I have my first vaccine the sooner my twelve weeks start for my second one.

There's an Horizon special on tonight on BBC Two about Covid and what we know now. It's on at 9pm and I'll probably watch it because there's nothing else on anyway.

Even though Covid cases are continuing to fall the infections in hospitals is still high and in some parts of the UK there's still hotspots where the virus still has a strong hold so it's no where near over yet.

Cases have gone down in the U.S. 56k yesterday (lowest since Oct. 8) and 67k for the 7-day average (lowest since Oct. 24). There is still some work to go but between that and the vaccines being more widely-distributed, 2021 is off to a good start.

You don't have to wear a mask in Texas starting next week and everything will be open at 100% capacity. What could go wrong?

Neither would I. Anyway, this latest strain from Brazil which has arrived in the UK is a bit worrying as they're saying that it spreads even faster than all of the other strains which have been found so far. And, from what I've read on the BBC news pages it's not known if the vaccines will work against it as they haven't been tested yet.
