So, you're ok with public transport but not ok with tennis tournament? What's the difference?

So, you're ok with public transport but not ok with tennis tournament? What's the difference? Lots of folk need to use public transport to get to work. Nobody needs to go to a tennis tournament during a pandemic. Sitting on a bus with a mask on for relatively short space of time is less likely to spread COVID around than 4000 people with no masks on sitting together in a stadium for hours on end. On public transport there is nobody running around swinging a tennis racket aboot producing lots of sweat droplets in the air. Next question.

So how's everyone are doing now? Dutch government announced about the new measures last night. From 1st of July, there'll be no limited numbers of customers at theaters, museums, cinema, concert venues as long as everyone keeps distance of 1,5 meter. Football matches will start with audiences from 1st September. From 1st of July all seats in a public transport can be fully used (now the max. capacity is 40%). We're allowed to go on holiday within EU except UK and Sweden, so people started to book their holiday. I'm not going anywhere this Summer. Seeing the photo of a packed airport makes me scary. Meanwhile a part of our neighbour (Germany) the situation is getting worse. Stay safe and take care for each other, people! I'm quite "amazed" that nobody seems interested in how the things are going in and around your countries.

My girlfriend works for the NHS and has weekly updates on cases etc in our local health board. There is currently nobody in hospital with Covid in our area (Population around 390,000)
Other parts of Wales still have cases, there are on average around 5 people a day dying, so it's still here

we're having around 2500 new cases a day, especially in the capital and surroundings. many businesses can't open, transport is restricted to essential workers. other areas of the country are better and aren't as restricted economy was bad before and it's in absolute downfall right now. I'm hoping by springtime things will return to somewhat normal

Thank you for the responses, guys.
What I never and don't want to "understand" that there are people who don't bother at all and even protest against all those regulations.
I have a friend in the US and although she had all those symptoms, her test was negative, so she didn't get any treatment. Thank god, she's better now.
I just heard on the news that US bought the (possible) vaccins and there's nothing left for the rest of the world. Oh well...

In Scotland we had no deaths for 4 days, then 3 yesterday and 1 today.
We seem to have done very well to suppress it here so far. The true test will be over the next few weeks when things start opening up again though.

Florida experiencing between 6k and 10k per day. And it's likely towards or exceeding the latter since they have specifically lowered the amount of testing being done in order to limit the outlook on how severe the problem actually is.

We keep breaking the last day's records over here. Things are re-closing, they're talking about forcing ~30 somethings to get tested.
Heard about the US buying all the vaccines this morning too and it really bothers me. You kinda already know that they're going to only have it for the people who are paying health insurance.
My mother has been to the doctor at least three times now with symptoms. She has all the kind of health complications that would make it fatal. There's lots of people like that in this country so I think they're trying to be careful.
The numbers aren't big enough for people. The county can have like 500 cases in a day, but then only 1 person got it where you are, where 50,000 people live, so why worry? They don't think about how the 3 million other people surrounding them move around everyday.

Things are slowly going back to normal in Spain, but since this is a popular holiday destination I'm a bit worried about how summer tourism could change our situation.

Things are getting normal in The Netherlands as well and people started to book their summer holiday to abroad. Thing is, virus is still there in our life and we can't deny about it.
Stay safe everyone (especially our members in the other side of ocean)!

Never mind about all the potential spreaders that were in the crowd.

It's interesting watching videos from people in other countries interacting with each other without a mask and thinking, "Wait, where are their masks?" and then remembering, "Oh yea, other countries handled this pandemic well enough to where they don't have to worry as much." Being inside during recess, due to something you didn't do but were guilty by association for, while everyone is outside having fun and playing during recess. That's what it's like to live in the U.S. right now.

Bolsonaro has coronavirus and he's talking to journalists right now *facepalm*
and now he's saying he took hydroxychloroquine and he's feeling better Trump 2.0
so I'm guessing one of two things: he doesn't have it and he's pretending to make it sound like it's just a flu that you recover easily or he's pushing that hydroxy thing for economic reasons

I'm right. It was just a flu". Trump 2.0 indeed.

Starting my 14 day quarantine. Anyone know how not to be bored during this time?
Edit: I don't have the virus but early symptoms of the cough.
