The Reflex version is what the original should’ve been. Get to work with that man Noel! The thing is I’m not sure if The Reflex has ever produced another artist? Or properly collaborated with someone? I think he’s only ever done remixes of songs after they’re already finished. He actually started out doing bootleg unofficial remixes. But goddamn there’s no harm in them putting a week aside and seeing what comes out of it... X Noel's gotten to be a decent producer, even Dave Sardy occasionally stumbles onto something interesting, but they don't come close to The Reflex. I haven't heard a reflex revision that wasn't better and more interesting than the original. I feel like Noel's new material would be put over the edge with The Reflex as producer.

I would want to see a Noel / The Reflex collaboration although not every song should have two minute intros. His remixes have been great. It would be bool if the next NGHFB album was like Fireman but instead of Paul McCartney and Youth, it would be Noel and the Reflex.

I was listening to the EP on a bus home today. It was nice, makes for some good background music. What really underwhelmed me though was how bland The Reflex remix was this time around. Sure, it's made the track longer now and it's a different mix compared to the original. But it's a bit blah for me.
As for the three original tracks that comprised the extended play, they're a welcome mix-up that showcase both the old and new Noel sound.
"Blue Moon Rising", while not his most solid track, shows that whatever Noel does out of one small idea (the track started as a tiny bit on the keyboard apparently), he can still create very unique songs. Props to Noel for this one, but "Black Star Dancing" beats this one with a rock. Go figure.
For "Wandering Star", I was hoping the song's alternate mix would be included so this one wouldn't be so out of place. But it works from the idea that it made for the holidays. So there's that, but nothing else.
"Come On Outside", while shifted around to accentuate the new tempo and is presented with new overdubs, fits the all around Electronic sound of the EP. It thoroughly rounds out what you might be missing from the extended play.
And I wouldn't dare mention that 7" mix. That pissed me off more than anyone will ever know. That's it. That's my mini review.

Well, it'd have to be taken down a notch for a proper album, you couldn't have 7-10 min. tracks taking up the entire album. It'd still be a lot more interesting and experimental than anything he's ever put out. Instead of slowly but surely giving into the fans with mediocre offerings like 'Wandering star', he should continue down this path and do whatever he wants.

the synth keyboard that starts at 2.10 sound really like a song I know but I can't remember it. It has me stumped the last few weeks... any suggestions?

Does anyone else had problems with Blue Moon Rising vinyl? It's the only one I can't listen to it, my turntable skips the whole EP, this doesn't happen with other vinyls

I would like to see Noel work with Nile Rodgers (of Chic fame). He's a very talented guy and has worked with many artists and produced their albums.

I haven't listened to this song for a long time or any of the EPs apart from some of the live versions. Probably because they're not some of my favourite Noel songs.

Still the best single from Noel's EP releases. New sound but great melody, wish there was more of the chorus in it.

The build up to the first chorus is so good, but then the first chorus dies too soon in a minor chord and it takes the energy right out of the song IMO. Still the best single of the three, for me at least.

I would like to see Noel work with Nile Rodgers (of Chic fame). He's a very talented guy and has worked with many artists and produced their albums. That might be a realistic idea. Nile did say Black Star Dancing was a "dope" song so if Noel reached out, I'm sure he'd oblige. I'd love to see Noel work with a few different producers on an album. Like, have a few songs be produced by Nile Rodgers, a few songs produced by David Holmes, some by himself, some with another producer. I think it'd be a diverse album and would really boost Noel's stock with what he's currently doing.

It would most likely be a really fun record to listen to if that were to happen; different producers on some tracks, some self-produced and such. Gosh...

Nile is a talented guy so I'm sure an album produced by him would be really good.

But time will tell I guess.
