I like it. Not the biggest fan of these Noel new style tracks. But the other day I listened to all 8 that are out now, and as a whole it sounds quite alright. And out of them this one stands out. With Wandering Star & Come On Outside I think this will be the strongest EP.

I’ve listened to it about 10 times now. I like it, a bit more than Average for this EP run of songs. Takes a moment to catch on but it’s a nice tune. There’s two songs I love (sail on, a dream is all) the rest are okay to decent/good, like a 6-6.8 (7 still feels too high):

Liam’s songs are far more accessible and catchy, Noel’s more interested in rhythm and beats now. It’s different music for different people, what’s more a lot of people are happy with both styles. I’d rather he continues doing what he does instead of flaccid shit like Lock All The Doors and Girl With X Ray Eyes. |

He is making music for himself and is fully accepting of the fact that big parts of the Oasis fanbase won't like it. I would be willing to bet that he has at least a full album's worth of "classic" Noel type tracks in the vaults, probably more. You can see why too right? I mean if you had spent 30 years of your life sticking to more or less the same formula, earned enough money out of it for 10 lifetimes and secured your childrens children's livelihood, and you're looking at life's clock ticking past, you might want to try some different shit for a bit. It is very common, a lot of artists do it. |
