I listened to it two times now and somehow I don't get it. Sure there are moments but its a record that bar some songs like "once", "the river" and "invisible sun" sounds not that special. I have to say some songs feel fabricated and never was a gallagher that close to soundimg like the beatles or a beatles solo record and I don't know if I like that. Halo for example is better structured but it misses that naive sonic power that bring the light had, to which people compare it. I dont feel that much energy and although I was curious about the album co written by Liam I have to say I prefer As you were right now cause Liams written songs on it were so pure and beautiful. There is not a single song that reaches the depth of "I've all I need" for me. I am not disappointed but I guess I like Liams songwritjng more than these perfectly structured pop songs. I have listened to that song a few years ago, that was solely written by a computer program called something like "my fathers car" and that felt like some of these songs.
Right now just 6/10 and although catchier songs and hooks not that pure like As you were or Beady Eye.

I wish I could listen to Liams demos before they worked on them together, cause sometimes I have the feeling some parts feel forced in and out of place. Like the bridge part (all your darkness...) in shockwave, that even soundwise is a bit different to the rest of the song.

Really like Now That I've Found You and Glimmer. The rest is pretty average though, AYW was far better imo.

Averaged the 14 tracks out to a 7.93. For comparison, As You Were as a 7.93. Both good albums. There’s something for everyone on here I reckon. I generally prefer the dirty stompers more than the ballads but understand the need for both tastes. Having said that, Once is my favourite for some reason. Bloody love it.
10 Once
9 The River Gone
8 Shockwave One Of Us Halo Why Me? Why Not? Alright Now Invisible Sun
7 Now That I’ve Found You Be Still The Meadow Misunderstood Glimmer

Like the bridge part (all your darkness...) in shockwave, that even soundwise is a bit different to the rest of the song. Totally. That's why some of the songs dont work coz they finished bits of Liam's "tunes". Shockwave being the most shocking one. It's collage of many songwriters that all go in different directions. In the end, it goes nowhere.

After the first two listens i was not really sure about Why Me Why Not. But after 4 days it all really grew on me. Even the filler tracks all have something interesting that elevate them for me, like the falsetto bit in the title track.
My favourites at the moment: One Of Us, Once, Meadow, Gone and Misunderstood

Listened to it non stop for 2 days. Have to say I didn't initially like it, now it's grown massively.
For a Liam album there's loads going on musically to the extent that I think Shockwave is the weakest song on there.
Also, as with AYW the bonus tracks are high quality as well, could definitely have included any of them

Amazing how people rate an album they've only listened to less than three days just like the way they're rating an album they've been listening to 10 or more years.

Album (without the bonus tracks) is top heavy. Alright Now + Meadow are the weakest (especially Meadow). Gone saves it from a fate akin to DOYS. There is nothin on this record as bad as GOYHHL, AGN and TNR. Not remotely close.

Hard to rate it. I like a few songs but there is a mainstream feel (a bit like on As You Were) that puts me off a bit.

Loving this so far. The summery weather here has also added to the enjoyment. Why on Earth did this not get released earlier in the year?
Shockwave - 7 One of Us - 8 Once - 9 Now That I’ve Found You - 9 Halo - 9 Why Me Why Not - 8 Be Still - 7 Alright Now - 8 Meadow - 7 The River - 8 Gone - 9
That’s an 8.09 overall. I don’t count the bonus tracks but they’re all solid 7-8s.
What I like the most is that the filler tracks are still pretty interesting on the ears, whereas the fillers on AYW were straight up dull. I have no desire to listen to tracks like I Get By, Chinatown or Paper Crown any more but I can see me listening to Meadow, Be Still and Shockwave for a lot longer. For me this is the best post-Oasis Gallagher album, which I previously handed to Who Built the Moon. Liam’s more than keeping the side up after the disappointing last few tunes from Noel.

Shockwave This seems like a music student's attempt to create an Oasis-style song. The live version is decent but the production on the album version does the song no favours. 6
One of us Good flowing tune with decent lyrics, though I can’t quite connect with this one as much as I’d like to. 5.5
Once Great ballad with universal appeal. Another song that works better live. 7
Now that I've found you OK song with cheesy production. The MTV unplugged version sounded much better. 5.5
Halo Bring the Light meets Let’s Spend the Night Together. This song goes nowhere. 5
Why me? Why not? The chorus is so uplifting. Great song and the live version should take this to another level. 7
Be still Bland rock’n’roll by numbers. 5
Alright Now Very atmospheric fade-out on this, but it seems too detached from the rest of the song. Overall any sentiment is lacking and it’s a bit too Jon Lennon/New Yok era. 6
Meadow Nice melody, but the chorus lyrics sound like they were written in 2 minutes to meet a recording deadline. Could’ve been so much better. 5
The River Stomping powerful rocker and one of the better songs on the album. We already know how good this sounds live. 6.5
Gone Good choice for a closer, and well-produced. I don’t enjoy this as some people do, maybe it will grow on me, so I’ll be generous with my rating. 5.5
Invisible sun A promising start to this song but it falls apart in the bridge and chorus. 6
Misunderstood I’ve said elsewhere what I think of this and won’t repeat it here. The tune is nice enough, but it all sounds a bit twee. 5
Glimmer I thought we’d heard the last of this type of song after Beady Eye split. Not a step in the right direction. 4.5
Once demo This stripped-back version is slightly preferable to the sweetly- produced album version 7
Overall Album Rating: 6

7, no less, no more. Good album overall, with amazing tunes like Once, Why me why not or Now That I've Found You and with shitty tunes like Shockwave, Meadow, Halo.

6/10, don't think i'll come back to this album really often, guess i listened to too much really interesting music over the last year to stay captivated by a gallagher album apart from DM, MG and Masterplan

Unlistenable pastiche of Rock'n'Roll. It's more beige than a '90s computer and more m.o.r. than IKEA furniture. Just bland as fuck. Everything sounds safe and calculated. AYW at least had some shades of raw energy, WMWN could have been a Harry Styles album. What a waste of a great voice.

People really dumping on “Halo”. Might be my favorite on the record. Lighten the fuck up folks. But really it’s gotta be one of the worst odes to a woman ever written. I’d rather be told by NG to get off my high horse lady than told by Liam that I “follow him around all day” 🤢

I like the song, but I bet she would rather have kept "Wonderwall" as a song he wrote for her than that one!

It's a pretty decent BDI album.
The record just dies out after track 6 (WMYN) with some vital signs resurfacing with "Gone" only to quickly flatline immediately. And there isn't anything that memorable before track 6 either, the highs of AYW reached far higher.
After the initial hoopla (Ala beat goes on) subsides and over the long haul, AYW will be remembered as the vastly superior album.
Wait a few weeks before the backlash begins.
