Very clear what Noel wanted to accomplish with this song, and it does work for me, but I would have expected Noel to do more with it. As it stands, it kinda looks like the production is the way it is to cover up a chorus that is very, very average for Noel's standards. What I always loved about his best songs is that you can play them on just an acoustic guitar or the piano and they'll sound great, can't imagine that this one does.

I think the song's alright. Sounds like album filer from the WBTM sessions that didn't make the cut / wasn't finished in time, although I'm sure it's a new song (haven't followed the info regarding NG's new EP/album).
3/10. Hopefully the reflex remix betters it.

It's absolutely dogshit. None of you would get a minute into it if it wasn't Noel. Well some people might. There's a duo/act called Almunia which I've liked for years. It reminds me a lot of them. Gave it an 8, upgrading from a 7 I gave it on initial listen. |

I got more than a minute into it because it doesn't sound like him. If you don't like it, fair enough, it isn't for you, but just because your ears aren't tuned into doesn't mean others aren't. I went for a 5, I think he could have done more with the bassline and it needs a chorus. Guitar solo is cool though, sounds more like Strangeboy Stacy than Noel or Gem playing it.

I love to see artists branch out more than anything but not to the detriment of their songwriting ability, which is what i feel is happening here. I think there are many directions Noel could go in while maintaining his real ability for songwriting and melody that most don't have, but i don't feel this showcases anything like that. It's all rather average and going through the motions of what he thinks other people will find cool or whatever, when it's not. I doubt Noel would even listen to it if someone else made this song. |

For me it's OK. It would be decent filler on an album but not single worthy. It's got a nice groove to it. I like the guitar solo and female backing vocals. Noel sounds good but chorus could be better.

The hope that ballooned inside me when I read the headlines died agonizingly when I heard the track.
I wanted to give it 1/10 but I gave it 5/10 The song itself feels okay. It's only a huge disappointment because I know and hold dearly the type of song noel used to write before he switched genres.
Experiencing Liam losing his voice was one thing, we're lucky he got it back. Never Imagined I would witness Noel, alive and well, just give up on the genre that was his genius, and become a mediocre 80's dance track machine.
