Having listened to the Smashing Pumpkins properly for the first time over the weekend I think Noel needs to switch his set list up a bit to compete.
Bring in some of his heavier songs like Morning Glory & Supersonic (band version, not acoustic). Get TMWBTM in there too.

For whatever reason the smashing pumpkins were a band that passed me by. Picked up Mellon Collie today. Only 1 disc in but what a great album. Also saw this video for the first time today. Billy Corgan once had hair!! What a revelation. X Disc 2 is more mellow, some great tracks on it : two 90s classics with 33 and 1979, then Beautiful, By Starlight, Lily (My One and Only)... And then you have the bsides (almost as many tracks as the double album) Man, you opened Pandora's box, there's no turning back now. Next up Adore, Gish, Siamese dream... James Iha both sol albums are great too. Then you have Zwan, which is pop Smashing pumpkins, thought they were unfarily criticized back then. I saw Zwan live so I win! That band was doomed to fail. So much in house fighting, drugs and fucking.

But you and I both know it will be mostly tracks from HFB's 1, 2 & 3, with a few of the "safe" Oasis tunes sprinkled in. Still pumped for this show though!

Adding the title track from your biggest selling album? I can’t think of anything *more* safe... Obviously you’re right though :-) X

I prefer disc 2......Bodies, Cats Only Come Out At Night, Lily, and Farewell and Goodnight.....great bongs. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Catness came out when I was in high school, when I took lots of marijuana, that's probably I prefer the blue album... Thanks.

X I have been thinking the same and wondering if Noel will feel a bit competitive and give us a some more guitar playing like the old days instead of letting Gem carry the load. Billy whales on the guitar the whole show and it is a very rock appreciative audience..I hope Noel doesn’t insist on the same set list as last year. The first half of the album all back to back has a decidedly more European flavor which I don’t think will mesh great with the pumpkins audience. He has so many other songs that would work better for this tour!

Lasted almost 3 months in top 100. Small potatoes but they are Noel’s potatoes.

Just got gifted tickets for Toronto as a birthday gift. Mom was a huge oasis and SP fan back in the day and to get the opportunity to go see both Noel and SP with a huge fangirl such as my mom is something that blows my mind. Already got to see the stranded on the earth and chasing yesterday tour, but haven’t ever seen Corgan or SP. safe to say I’m....

The accuracy is painful 😂 I might be alone in this but that setlist would suit me fine. 3/4 of the setlist is solo, which is awesome, and of the Oasis songs, 1 is required (DLBIA), 1 is done very well by HFBs (CS)... the only real objection I have is Wonderwall, but the crowd will love it. I suspect we’ll get something closer to 2/3 Oasis, though. I’d love to be wrong.

Heads up to anyone who hasn't got tickets yet: I received an email from Ticketmaster, these shows will apparently be part of this year's $20 all-in summer promotion.

This is the problem with buying tickets nowadays. Bait and switch ticketing. Punishes the real fans (aka suckers) who support their favorite artists just to have the price rug pulled from underneath them later Glad we can help subsidize a bunch of 20 dollar ticket fans going to see "the wonderwall dude from oasis". only got me for one show this time around though. didnt buy a ticket for the Merriweather show. what a joke. oh, and whats up with the aisle seats now being sold at a premium at BB&T Camden. Its like 20 bucks more or something. how much money do they need? shit is ridiculous. that venue is a dump number #1.

you might even want to wait on even buying the 20 dollar ticket deal. If you go to a lot of shows you may have vouchers good for 2 “free tickets”. ticketmaster was made to give these out as a part of a settlement deal for price gouging via "fees" a few years ago. Usually around late june they open up the tickets for the “free” show vouchers. almost always they are for amphitheaters. So if you wait you may be even be able to go for “free”.

I agree with you but just remember when you click the "BUY TICKETS" button the day the tix go on sale, nobody is forcing you to do so. Myself, personally, the button could have (and should have) said SUCKER when I clicked it, and I would have clicked it anyway. On the flipside I have seen John Mellencamp and The Violent Femmes for $20 each and also The Stones (in the pit nonetheless) for $79, so I guess it all comes out in the wash? Bottom line: buyer beware.

No pricing integrity.
