If this is real I’m all fucking in. Huge fan of Pumpkins from the 90s. Saw them last summer at a sold out MSG show. Bring it. I assume Birds open.

With 20 dates in Europe and a possible USA summer tour I surely hope this means a new record could be out this summer. That’s a ton of touring behind an album from 2017.

Better than that proposed Weezer tour from 2009.

Better than that proposed Weezer tour from 2009. Ugh Weezer routing Raditude would've been a nightmare to see.

If I remember correctly Oasis was in NYC right before their MSG show in 2008. He was live on the radio with Matt Pinfield maybe. The co tour was mentioned. Noel seemed surprised and asked someone off mic if it was made official yet. That was the end of all that speculation. Nothing has been uttered since. That was a decade ago now. It feels like it was last year.

My money is on Liam getting wind of it and, well you know where it would have gone from there (much like that night in Paris about 6 months later).

I hope this means a big tour including smaller cities. Don’t know why else they would tour together. I don’t think Noel has been to Seattle since 2012

I always wondered how much (and when) the rest of the band knew what was going on. Even if they did know, I still wouldn't put it past Liam to say yes at first and then no last minute, a la the MTV Unplugged gig.

I can't see how it will work out. I'm a fan of both SP and NGHFB but they're too different, totally opposite energy.

I did, I was a little on the fence about going but I’m so glad I did the show was great! I think traditional Noel with an acoustic guitar would not work with the pumpkins but the new band with his new light show could work quite nicely.

Flew to Chicago to see him last year, which was nice, but would have been great to get him at the Paramount or the Showbox (please not the Moore).

Just because they're both "90's acts" here in the States, that means they should tour together? Seems ridiculous. Very different acts. I'll believe it when I see it.

I think it’s a perfect pairing. Noel wrote anthems. Billy wrote anthems. They will sell out a lot of amphitheater’s across the USA this summer. Plus I dig both bands a lot.

Billy Corgan is a lot like Noel, personality wise. He has the ability to be very prickly, but very engaging as well. He used to have a tea shop in the suburbs of Chicago. My band played there. We kept telling each other that it would be wild if he walked in while we were performing. Well, during our second set of the show, he walked in. He spent his time drinking tea, writing in his notebook, and listening to us. When we were finished, he spent over an hour giving us advice, shooting the shit, and talking about how his writing process has changed over the years. It was definitely a brilliant moment that I found very generous of him.

They really aren’t that different. Both had huge runs in America in the mid 90s. Both had genius songwriters in the middle of an immense purple patch of artistic highs. As someone who was a teenager in the 90s and also went to high school in the 90s, they shared similar fans. Big cross over. An American Oasis fan was just as likely to own Mellon Collie as a Pumpkins fan would have Morning Glory. It’s a smart idea given the market they are targeting. I mean looking back the Black Crowes tour was a head scratcher. Outside the brothers motto totally opposites.
