I’ll be at the gig on Thursday. Tour opener. Billy recently said the pumpkins finished recording 24 new songs. Gonna finish bass parts and drums post tour. Maybe have it all done by end of 2019. Sounds more like a proper album than EP volume 2. We shall see. I wouldn't put my hopes up with Billy. He has no filter at all when publishing at instagram, all talk with nothing to back it up. Sometimes less is better. |

Was shocked when I looked at the Camden tickets the other day. Looks like less than half the seats under the roof are sold. There was even a Craigslist posting for lawn seats that the posted said he was given tixs for free. I think this is way more reflective of the Pumpkins having little drawing power. Noel would never do a shed tour in US solo. He is great in the larger theaters/clubs. Noel fans, like myself, are discouraged to have to pay more money than a Noel solo show for a decent seat, and you know going in you’re only getting 60 mins as opposed to 90 mins. My idea to split seats/lawn tixs w/ a Pumpkins fan would be a great deal, considering it appears you can get lawns for $15/$20 the pumpkins will prob be the best part. tickets that were selling for 99 back in march were dropped to 59 in recent weeks. |

If anyone is interested, during the Radio X interview, Noel talks a little about the Pumpkins. He said they have 2 good songs; Tonight Tonight and 1979. Matt asks him about Disarm and he says he hasnt heard that one. Today and Bullet with Butterfly Wings are also good songs. One funny part was Noel saying, "Billay Billay" in a American accent.

Not sure of Noel’s habits when on tour as an opener but he might be surprised to stick around and catch the pumpkins. They’ve got a load of excellent tunes. Mostly from the mid 90s but all were pretty big radio hits in America. Today Disarm Tonight Tonight Zero Bullet With Butterfly Wings 1979 Ava Adore To name but a few. One funny part was Noel saying, "Billay Billay" in a American accent. take noel's opinion with a grain of salt. billy corgan is one of the top three songwriters from the 90's, maybe top 2. if corgan would of blown his head off in the 90's his bald head would be all over posters and tshirts like cobain. noel also said the beach boys were barber shop quartet music. yet he thinks stormzy is brilliant. so he really doesn't know shit. there is a who's who of music legends that say brian Wilson is on par with the best composers ever. he used to shit out genius records in between nervous breakdowns and being spaced out of his mind. |

Lennon2217 have a good one! Definitely worth watching the Pumpkins nowadays with almost the original line up. Seems like they really like playing live at the moment. Saw them in June at a festival and really enjoyed the gig. Never been a big fan but of course know loads of tunes from good old MTV days. This song off their last album got me a little Oasis vibe when I heard it

Oh, I know. I don't blindly believe everything Noel says. I like the main pumpkins tunes. I've tried to listen to the fillers but nothing ever grew on me. This will be the first time I don't go to a Oasis related show in my area. I couldnt find anyone to go with. Usually I would just go alone but in the past couple of years I've grown a little sour to his live act, not as excited as I used to be. Traffic is also a real pain in the ass at Merriweather. Last time he came around here was in February 2018 in DC and it was alright but his 2015 and 2012 shows were so much better. |
