What did you think about the acoustic version of If I Had a Gun that was included on the Back The Way We Came compilation? I think it uses the original tracks from the single. To me at least it sounds better, I agree with what the others said about the drums sounding like shit on the original song so to have it stripped down like that really helps it I thought it was decent, actually! Granted, I didn't really take the time to listen to the whole compilation as a whole sequence because, I know for a fact some of it has been retouched for the new discs. Consequently, at the time, I wasn't thinking straight. These days, trying to mellow out and coming to terms with a few things in my life, I've come to appreciate that new Acoustic mix of "If I Had a Gun...". It gives me an excuse to mess around with that cleaner vocal stem in the near future. I guess my one gripe with it is, it sounds too clean to really be considered an acoustic version. Acoustic versions of songs IMO, should definitely be re-recorded versions, or at least one guitar take from the original track, mixed in with re-mixed vocals added in from other takes. But this was too clean, and very unnecessary. But over time now, has become quite decent for sure for me. When the new compilations discs came out, I was more-so looking forward to that 'acoustic version' of The Dying of the Light, because I was certain before the compilation dropped that it was the version that can be heard in the Making of Doc. Boy, was I ever wrong about that. I've since listened to the two-disc compilation, and yeah, it sits nicely where it needs to be. A good throw-away, and worth it for a different version of a song we've all come to "love" one way or another. <script src="moz-extension://e5521678-0ba6-476f-9da5-11748e9bf9b2/js/app.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Everybody’s On The Run is one of Noel's best solo songs so far and I've always liked it.
