Looks like one of Noel’s best solo tracks is getting a cheesey cowboy themed video. Make room for the man who built the moon... Given the lyrics, the initial inspiration from the Hateful Eight poster, and even a tiny bit in the song before the big string section kicks in, where the sound / distortion vaguely resemble a horse neigh (this could totally be my imagination), I don't find cheesy cowboy themed video a surprise. Do you have a link for the Hateful Eight comment? First time I’ve heard that. Cheers. X

I feel as though this would have been better if it didn't show them playing the song. If it just had the story of the couple I think it would have flowed better.

It's alright. Not the worst stuff we've seen from Mike Bruce.

Apalling video. I loved the look of the other videos for Holy Mountain, It's A Beautiful World, and She Taught Me How To Fly as well as the lyric videos. But this is just shocking. A hokey story in a "western" setting that has fuck all to do with anything, badly shot and badly acted. Apalling. Thank god it's for my least favourite track on the album.

I love how Mike says he wanted to do something that has NEVER been done before. And he’s just stringing some music videos together exactly like he did last time! I genuinely can’t believe that after the horrors of the DTD video Noel is letting him do videos for his entire album. X

X He must have dropped his asking price, making him a cheaper option Maybe Mike is paying ;-P With it being a fairly cinematic album, doing videos for all the tracks is a good idea but there are so many better choices of director out there. The other thing I find weird is that Noel is a quintessentially British artist, but Mike gives him very American feeling videos (deserts, cowboys, muscle cars, yellow taxis, etc). To be clear I have nothing against America, it just doesn’t suit Noel’s image at all. X

Part of Oasis initial appeal to me was that they were so British in an otherwise American grungy music landscape.

I realize that there are no deserts in England, but this fascination with the landscape is quite odd, right?

Americanizing him makes him seems very boring. I’d much rather see videos shot in Manchester or London

It's even funny with the Liam thing

Noël can't just fire Mike Bruce that easily; Mike Bruce is a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce of Scotland....Mike Bruce is royalty! Thanks.

Yeah, I get the same feeling, especially as the band shots are badly edited. The drum movements are off quite a bit, that just looks amateurish.

Good find! Well, that is a surprise (possibly a good one though). Do we know why some of them are underlined and others are not? Are they the singles? I notice there is a separate topic for stranded on the earth movie- do you know if only the songs listed as music videos will be used in the film? Thanks!

Just thought I’d jump on here to say I interviewed Mike Bruce yesterday for an upcoming episode of the Oasis Podcast. I got the full story of Stranded On The Earth which is very exciting.
Turns out reading this thread though there’s a lot of hate for Mike Bruce! I think his work with Noel is fantastic - the videos from the first album perfectly suit the style of music - much more brassy and vaudevillian than Oasis so that suits Mike’s Americana style down to the ground. Plus tying them together with the different themes... very bold and I salute them for trying something different.

Underlined songs are songs with videos released and directed by Mike, I think that the 6 songs not underlined (Fort Knox, Keep on Reaching, She Taught Me How To Fly, Be Careful What You Wish For, Dead in the Water and Holy Mountain) will be the other chapters of Stranded On The Earth and the videos will be released soon. PD: sorry for my bad English if I did a mistake writing
