That quote was about Arcade Fire's double album released in 2013 (can't remember it's name, I probably haven't listened to it anyway). That’s a “fake” double album anyways. It’s only 13 tracks divide between 2 CDs and is actually shorter than The Suburbs which is a single album. AF was just getting artsy fartsy. Nobody really consumes music like that anymore. It’s all endless playlists and infinite content which led into their next album of parody....... Reflektor’s comfortably a longer album than The Suburbs. It’s about 80 minutes - considering an average album is around the 40-45 minute mark, the double album was justified.

Do You really listen to the pregap track or the second half of Supersymmetry? Those are like 14 minutes that arent really essential to the album listening experience.

Yeah, I love the chilled vibes it gives. Great track and wouldn't take the excess off it.

Well The Suburbs is 16 tracks at 64 minutes. Reflektor is 13 tracks at 69 minutes. “Supersymmetry” ends with over 6 min of white noise and hiss/fuzz/boops. Nobody really continues to listen to that junk once the real song ends. Band was completely being self indulgent there. I have no idea why they would tack on that crap to a beautiful song like that. So that is why I subtracted 6 min off the runtime which gets it to 69 minutes. I also have never really listened to either on a format that makes it a double album. 99% iPhone or computer. Double album in theory but not in practice.

Interesting. When Tomas Crow posted the clip of audio of part of the new Noel track, the female voices sounded like the Roxy Girls to me. However, then Tomas Crow said in that article that they had brought in David Gilmour's backing singers. So I started to wonder if the Roxy Girls had also sang backup for David Gilmour and couldn't find any evidence. Also a twist is that we know Brendan Lynch is the one who brought in Tomas Crow and Brendan Lynch has worked with Le Volume Courbe so he's connected to Charlotte. However, it looks like Noel is in fact working with the Roxy Girls again in the studio and no evidence of Charlotte/Jessica/Ysee. I think it's interesting how the structure of the NGHFB outfit evolves.

All double-albums are fake. Just one album so long you needed two discs. Fake news if you ask me.

I think it'll be another album with say 10 or 11 songs on it. And, maybe a bonus disc with one or two exclusive tracks on it.I would be very surprised if Noel released a double album to be honest.

Another member found it on an instagram story of Tomas Crow (the engineer that Brendan Lynch brought in). I don't really use instagram but I was finally able to navigate myself to the story and heard it once. The music was playing while panning out over a grave site. To me it sounded like the Roxy Girls from the Rattling Rose and A Dream is All I Need to Get by tracks but in this one listen it didn't sound too great. I just went back now and couldn't find the story. There are other videos that pan over a gravesite near the studio but it's not the track and the video is over a year old. It's confusing. I don't know if it's still on his Instagram. live4ever.proboards.com/thread/91912/noel-working-on-new?page=3

It's strange, I'm almost never one on this forum to have exclusives or be the 'lucky' one to hear something but it seems like it was only a few forum members and me who saw the story when it was up. At the time I was surprised how little traction the thread got when we were discussing it. Honestly, it was a short clip, just female vocals. I love the use of female vocals with Noel (I've posted a lot about it) but for the very brief clip that it was, it wasn't too exciting. It would be hard to judge anything from it.

I'm happy for whatever we get. He hasn't alienated me in the slightest. Maybe I'm too old to give a shit about anything but the music at this point, as I've stated on previous occasions. Having been around since 1994, it would take a lot more than comments or a fight with Liam to make me stop listening to Noel.

All double-albums are fake. Just one album so long you needed two discs. Fake news if you ask me. Nah, there are double albums that are double albums with a distinct split in them. Also I'm pretty sure nowadays it's just a concept carried over from the vinyl-only days. Even EP/LP can get fucky in the age of Spotify and streaming. Some EPs are on the Album pages of some artists on there. But artists do sometimes make statements that take longer than one vinyl record and are distinct halves. Just not often as the business is still a business.

Maybe those ladies are off doing their own things and unavailable to record. Hopefully he hasn't gotten rid of them, I never got to see that version live if so. And that would be unfortunate!

Noel’s approach in the studio vs on stage never have anything in common with one another, I think it’s pretty likely the 2018-19 live HFBs will be the ones which emerge next time out also, even if none of them play/sing on the next record.

Best case scenario would be spring next year, but I guess it will also depend on what the situation is with all this COVID stuff Noel's on a small, independent label, it's basically his money, I'm not sure he wants to put something out without the chance to promote it Plus I don't think he wants to go against Liam, so I'd expect at least a couple of months to go by if Liam gets an album out first If Glastonbury is going down tho there's no way we don't get at least a single by mid june
