9? Have you heard that album before? This was always a stand alone more melodic album for me. Never listened to as much as the first three albums. This and Heathen Chemistry never really hit the mark. Some great tunes but not the slap in your face of Be Here Now (Which i bloody love to this day!) or Grandure of What's The Story. It has some songs like who feels love...that is a great winding monster...which my other half always says...is this Oasis? Give me FITB and Go Let it Out. Gas Panic gets a bit of extra love because it was different for them and stood out a bit in a field of shit. The rest of the album is the worst Oasis have ever been. No songs, all half baked or badly executed. The b-sides were miles better than the album tracks.

I'm amazed Noel isn't doing one. Do they normally add more releases to the list after it gets published?

Just like every oasis record this one has to be taken as a whole eg with the bsides that did not make it but were recorded during those sessions. It’s not a bad album just a badly sequenced one. The high are very high : FITB, GLIO, Who feels love (this is a high), WDIAGW, gas panic and Roll it over, that’s already 6 tracks. Include Full On (liam sung) Cigs in Hell and LAMB with carry us all or one way road as filler somewhere and it’s a very strong one with a risk taken at the time. Even put you money is enjoyable as a filler / cover. It was a make or break record and even though it’s rarely mentioned as a high in Oasis career, I rate it 4 behind the obvious first three. In late 99 when they previewed FITB and who feels love our body and mind exploded. And that tour was among their best: new band and sound, new energy... I think overall it was a risk worth taking and I still enjoy that record very much. Edit : this made me want to listen to it again. just heard Sunday morning call few mins ago for the first time in years. This is punk rock compared to what the Gallagher bros produce nowadays 🤣

The setlists were the absolute worst that Oasis have ever managed to put together, the new songs weren’t played enough and let’s not forget that Noel left for almost a whole European leg of the tour.

The gigs I went to were great, the sound was different, they sounded like a completely new band with Gem and Andy. They shared solos, the bass was not just a huge mess... so it was a welcoming change, I also attended a noel-less gig, which was interesting to watch. Like seing beady eye 11 years before they even formed. Time travel 😎

X I think that's probably it. Shame. Just commented on “Thoughts of the day” before seeing your posts here. Disappointing stuff. I was really hoping that we’d get Liams acoustic sessions for RSD. As for Noel, he’s surely just scraped the barrel already with the number of remixes we already have 🤷🏼♂️

The original David Holmes version of TITP for starters... Let’s not forget that unreleased album too! X

I have very fond memories of this tour. The band seemed in great spirits when I saw them twice in December 2008. MSG........Camden............tremendous stuff. Some songs I wish they dumped (Ain't Got Muffins and Meaning of Soul) in favor of others (My Big Mouth, Gas Panic and The Turning). Liam also looked dead cool all tour. He looked pretty lame in 2009. He wore that ridiculous green parka and he was aging pretty badly. Looked more like a movie serial killer than a rock star. He did look quite cool during most of 2008 though. That one show where he was wearing a leather jacket he looked awesome. Sounded his best since 2002 as well. Come to think of it, Liam hasn’t rocked a leather jacket during a gig for a very long time now. I always thought that was one of his staple looks. Seems just to be oversized parkas now

I always thought this was when he looked the coolest, he should bring this look back. images.app.goo.gl/YKiLuweGdVeMZuiL9

He had some iconic looks and jackets...but know he seems more concerned about his weight..which let's be honest most guys do at some point when hitting the mid forties age .I think it's a comfort thing with the parka...cover dem love handles!! He is an icon so he can wear a pink ball gown and we will still go to his gigs.

Does anybody know how much the EP's have been selling?

Thoughts on the 3 EPs:
I think BMR is the strongest overall, although I must say I find myself thinking TITP is the most consistently good. BSD is good fun, and Sail On my favourite release this cycle, but the other 2 songs there grew a little staler a little faster. I don't find Wandering Star to be that great; were it stronger for me, BMR would win by a long shot — it seems to have the most for everyone.

I’m sure there’s a thread about Liam’s figure and clothes in his section of the forum guys... :-P X True mate true. Got side tracked. Hoping noel throws us a bone and whacks these tunes in an album with a surprise re work of another few old demos. Listening to them all in a row at present to my ear not the best ever listen to be frank. Cant get into them as much as his first two albums that I can listen to on random and not ditch off the odd tune.

It’s an inoffensive song, but sticks out from these 9. Other than the D&P TITP remix, which is complete trash, WS is my least-fav thing this cycle. Which is a good low bar.

The live version of Wandering Star was great, with the powerful vocals and the horns in the instrumental break. It's a shame the studio version turned out to be rather boringly produced, with the dull vocals turned down to fuck all and the compression turned up beyond 11. It could've been a hit, but ended up sounding like a SOTSOG b-side at best and you fucking know it.
Oh well 😎

So now these are out the way, what happens next? Is he going to produce his new album by himself?
I hope not. While these EPs are different, they still need that bit of a push to bring out something really special. It's eclectic but there's still a nagging feeling that things are a bit tame too. Noel's production, while fine, is too clean, too professional, too restrained and not risky enough.
David Holmes really made his songs bombastic - some of those songs will burst your ear drums whether its the pounding rhythm of Keep On Reaching, the heavy beats of Fort Knox, the racket of Holy Mountain or the epic Man Who Built The Moon.
Noel needs to push the sound to its limits. A new producer will do that.

The long awaited TCT style acoustic album (a perfect way to offload all the 'classic Noel' type songs he's been stockpiling. This would please everybody.
