Update: he's still working, has not said much about the style but he sounds quite excited (said 2 of the tunes are easily some of the best he's ever done with HFB), says things are flowing really well right now
Yes, this is of course from Matt's podcast

Stuff i heard.
Lead single rumored to be All For Now (That's all For Now). It sound like Bowie doing Diamond Dogs in the 90s, but with less Dogs and more Diamonds.
The LP is gonna be 8 and half song long, all below 1.30 mins and mixed together so you cant rework the tracklisting. And will feature Lead Synths by ANZAC GOBI, which is an alias of someone who has previously worked with Noel, with much success. Synths on fire, actual fire, were used to made this unique recording.
Cover of the LP to feature a landscape and collage, with contrast up to the max, something Noel has never, ever done before.
Expect some real pyschedelism this time, not like SOTSOG or WBTM pyschedelism. Real pyschedelism. I know i cant wait.

This is exactly the sort of stuff Noel comes out with before releasing Here's a Candle for Your Birthday Cake.

We all know what Noel is like with his comments about his new music when he's working on anything. He always says that it's the best he's ever done or some of the best he's done. So I'll take it with a pinch of salt. But it's good to know that he's still working on his new album.

But it just seems like Noel's the worst for doing that.

I would have believed you 110% if you had the usual "it's his best material since Definitely Maybe" included in your post Nothing wrong with hyping up your material and get the folks a little excited about - but Noels comments on his releases in the past couple of years in particular have been borderline comical.

To be honest I've never been a fan of The Cure but we'll have to wait and see if Noel does really have any songs sounding like them.

There's a little mention in Mojo 327 (February 2021):
Noel Gallagher is working on a new High Flying Birds release. As well as wanting John Squire to play guitar on it, he says new song Pretty Boy sounds like The Cure. "I'm doing this album on my own," he told Radio X. "They'll be pop songs but they'll be a bit edgy."
Is this Radio X interview available to hear or did we all miss it?!

It's from one of the last few podcasts he's been doing with Matt (same one that the NME article refers to).

I wouldn't be unhappy if he included the direction the EPs took on this album but for the love of God, please have better production Wandering Star sounds horrific even though it's a banger
