Not fake, Noel said he's not deep into the recording process (well, this was two weeks ago) but he thinks next record is gonna be heavier/rawer Also said (I know some of you won't like this) he's producing it himself this time Thanks for the info, sounds promising!

Honestly, I am that much less interested in a self-produced record as opposed to one with David Holmes. Talk about a step backward.

Think he said when Black Star Dancing came out that David was busy with the Killing Eve soundtrack. Was already talking about building out his own studio then.

Not fake, Noel said he's not deep into the recording process (well, this was two weeks ago) but he thinks next record is gonna be heavier/rawer Also said (I know some of you won't like this) he's producing it himself this time No, in all seriousness, this means one of two things - either it'll be a decent album decently produced which will drift out of my rotation a couple of months after release (Chasing Yesterday), or it'll be an admirable attempt at something exciting which will suffer from a middle-aged Noel having all the natural adventurous spirit of a hedgehog (Blue Moon Rising). Hard to see an album with half the energy of WBTM coming without someone there to shove Noel around a bit as David Holmes did. Yeah this news brings expectations down a lot. Not massively looking forward to it as a result. I’ll listen to it and buy it in all likelihood but it won’t have the staying power of Who Built The Moon. Expect it to be tepid and half baked, whether it be more dancey or ‘raw’ (codeword for mid tempo plodding safety zone). If Noel called it quits tomorrow, I wouldn’t have too many regrets as Who Built The Moon is the kind of adventurous, grandiose and mad album that I’d wanted since Be Here Now. But it’s also a shame to think of ‘what could have been’ as its evidence that he was well adept at different sounds. Just a shame we won’t get to hear more of it.

I thought Noel did excellent on Chasing Yesterday aside from a couple questionable decisions, most notably the nananas on you know what song (which is actually really good, excluding that bit). So I am looking forward to it.

I think that chasing yesterday is his best solo album and he produced it himself. A good production (?) can make a song interesting but you always need the primary product:good songs.
I don't know how to explain it ("damn my education i can't find the words to say") so I will use an example.
BE is an half decent album, it's well produced but the songs aren't great.

As I've said before I liked what he did on the This Is The Place EP, so I'm confident he can reproduce that on a full album What I wish is to hear him capture his live sound somehow, it would be great if he could have some dancey and upbeat stuff but a bit more guitar heavy, kinda like they do What A Life, or what Evil Flower turned out to be I mean, the rawer things he's done with HFB are Evil Flower and The Man Who Built The Moon, if it sounds anything like it then count me fucking in

He used CY as an example of what is NOT raw though, so I'm hopeful (although I love CY, but Lock All The Doors and The Mexican are the least interesting things on it)

It was the same engineer that worked on WBTM. Noel seems to have got used to working with younger less luddite engineers and musicians now. Even if he produces himself, if he keeps using Holmes and Lynch’s contacts it’ll sound good and not turn out to be a Heathen Chemistry. God I hope so anyway. X

The spanish versión of that one doesnt has him but has another arrist (el cata) and is miles better.

I've just found this on the ppl database IMELDA MAY FT. RONNIE WOOD & NOEL GALLAGHER Just One Kiss Does anyone know anything about it? Hold up. Ron Wood (Rolling Stones) and Imelda May recorded a Chuck Berry covers album last year and Wood mentioned that there would be a total of 3 cover albums. Where did you find this? Link? (I am a MASSIVE Ron Wood fan... so this could be heaven for me)

Someone mentioned that Noel said in the recent podcast that he’d done 5 collaborations during lockdown. One is likely the Dizzee Rascal one. One is probably the CamelPhat one, although the work for that was actually done pre-lockdown. So maybe this is another of them..? X
