I love that people dumped on the 3 EPs. I mean we could have gotten nothing over the last year plus.

What kind of hype we talking? The recent societal lockdown gave my wife the opportunity to make me watch When Harry Met Sally and you know what? Harry is a really boring jerk. X I love that movie. It's been years. Reading about it now makes me want to watch it again

I was finishing an English Literature uni course when I watched it, so I really appreciated the scenes with the Modernist artists and writers. And the Parisian setting is used to great effect, like Spain is in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. It's not often I watch something with my Dad and we're completely on the same page about it afterwards, but we both loved Midnight and couldn't wait to watch it again.
Have you seen Blue Jasmine? That's supposed to be the other great Woody film of the last ten years innit. I'd like to see it, if only for Cate Blanchett who's always great.

I love that Billy Crystal is trending in this thread. If only he knew.

It's basically a remake of "A streetcar named Desire", borrows so much from that play/movie that it disturbed me. I'm used to Woody Allen imagining original stories instead.

I got bored after 20 minutes of Midnight in Paris and turn it off maybe is a rom com for dudes? I think there are a lot of better romcoms from the 90s no idea how this thread took this turn I haven't been playing attention tbh

Unfortunately I was with other people at both occasions so I had no say really. One of them also said Owen Wilson was one of the most attractive men she had ever seen and two others agreed with her, so it was a confusing experience anyway

Not fake, Noel said he's not deep into the recording process (well, this was two weeks ago) but he thinks next record is gonna be heavier/rawer Also said (I know some of you won't like this) he's producing it himself this time

Chasing Yesterday was self-produced and its the best solo album he's made IMO. If we got another one of those I'd be thrilled. I loved all of those songs (bar The Mexican), it had a magic vibe and great production, great songs, and didn't suffer from the over-production of NGHFB, or the trying-to-hard 2nd half of WBTM. Ignore the haters Noel, do another CY! Also on this point - the fact people on here had the audacity to label the GORGEOUS You Know We Can't Go Back as "dAd rOcK", then praised the absolutely steaming shit-pile that was Black Star Dancing, or This Is The Place, is insanity.

Hard to see an album with half the energy of WBTM coming without someone there to shove Noel around a bit as David Holmes did.

He used CY as a point of reference saying that was full of guitars but very clean, this will be *heavier*

They praised how Noel finished off The Right Stuff but wished they weren't associated with the Mexican because they felt Noel butchered it.

I'd rather have him produce it himself than have Sardy produce it. However, that means it will take a looooong time.
