Nice spot! This is the studio: www.lynchmobstudio.com/I’m really excited to hear Lynch could be involved. He’s worked on some great tunes with Primal Scream. Then again, he’s also produced several Ocean Colour Scene albums, so we’ll have to see whether he brings the best out of Noel. X

Yeah I don’t think he’s gonna linger this time. In 7y he’ll be in his 60s, he’ll be a grandpa and GP doesn’t pay any attention to grandpas in the music industry. Better not to waste his precious time. Almost sure he’s gonna release something next year. Fine by me!

It will be interesting to see which direction Noel's next album takes. If it will be more of the same or if he comes up with something else. Mind you, at the moment judging by his last album and the EPs he put out I don't expect he'll step away from his dance style any time soon. But it would be nice if we got some other style songs too. Like on Who Built The Moon.

But will he actually release a double album? That is the question. I mean we all know that Noel can talk crap at times. However it would be nice if he did manage to put one out one day. And, even Liam too come to that.

But will he actually release a double album? I wouldn’t bet any significant amount of money on it. But he has mentioned it, so we can hope. Many of the greats have done it, so I can see the appeal to him. X

“Anybody that comes back with a double album, to me, needs to pry themselves out of their own asshole. This is not the ’70s, okay?” I guess Noel changed his mind about double albums?

I think this double album talk has gotten way too much traction.

Hope the next album sounds like the This Is The Place EP, the most dynamic out of the 3, good/great tunes, a good mixture of dancey (This Is The Place) and trippy (Evil Flower) stuff and something more melodic and Noelsy but with a varied production (A Dream Is All I Need To Get By), might alienate a good chunk of the fanbase but Noel's at an all time low anyway so just fucking go for it

X When did he mention the double album possibility? I believe you but I don't remember that one. I must have missed it. He said it on an interview with Zane Lowe back in Nov 19. Also said it would be “eclectic”. I think these are some clips from that interview but you need to be on Apple Music to see the whole thing. Link to full show (needs Apple subscription): music.apple.com/gb/station/the-noel-gallagher-interview/ra.1488426055He also mentioned it to a New Zealand newspaper, so it wasn’t a throwaway comment in one interview only. Seen an interview in a New Zealand newspaper, he say the single (with xmas bells) will be out by xmas, but the third ep will now be early 2020. And he reckons he's going to have enough material and might make a double album when he starts recording again. X

That comment is 7 years old. It’s not as long as it took him to change his mind from wishing death on Damon Albarn to playing on an album with him... that was 22 years. X

Sometimes though I wish that Noel wouldn't say these things if he's not going to see it through.

I could be wrong but it sort of seems that this guy is using the fact that he engineered this Noel session to get publicity for his own project. Nothing wrong with that (but only if Noel's ok with it) but it seems like he's working on his own project and is going to get more hits by attaching Noel's name.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I only want Noel to do a double alboom if he has enough good songs to justify it. If he’s struggling to fill a second disc then put the crapper songs on b-sides or give them to The Gorillaz instead. I do think he has it in him though. If the EP tunes had been added to WBTM I’d have been happy enough with that as a double alboom. X

So judging by the timing of Tomas’s posts Noel could have been in Lynch’s studio for up to 2 months. Should’ve got a decent amount of material recorded in that time. For comparison the recording sessions for the 3 track EPs were ~6 days. X
