Song ratings are very subjective obviously, but I'll never understand how anyone could like Girl With X Ray Eyes!

I haven't rated the first album  Everybody's On The Run - 7 - Alright Dream On - 7 - Alright If I Had A Gun - 4 - Meh Death Of You and Me - 8 - Great (I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine - 4 - Meh AKA...What A Life - 5 - Meh Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks - 4 - Meh AKA...Broken Arrow - 6 - Alright (Stranded On The) Wrong Beach - 5 - Meh Stop The Clocks - 4 - Meh To me the album has too many Meh tracks..too many tracks that I'd only listen to if I was detirmened to listen to the album fully. For me, this feels like a Noel who was getting over the Oasis split, the songs feel boring for the main part and the lyrics could be better. Tracks like ..Had A Gun, Record Machine, What A Life etc the production could be better. Everything about this albums is just BORING |

If they'd used the demo of If I Had A Gun I'd have gave it an 8. And I'd have gave Riverman and Ballad of the Mighty I a 10 each if it was the Beyond The Wizards Sleeve mixes.
First album sounds like an Oasis demo album with Noel on vocals and how they left Alone On The Rope and Let The Lord Shine a Light On Me off for some of the selected tracks I'll never know.

The David Holmes mix of The Girl With X-Ray Eyes is pretty cool, especially the instrumental. I'd have like to have heard Noel sing a version of that rather than the kids choir. I'm hopeful that's the type of production we're going to get on the album. |

Don't let anybody intimidate you enough to change that opinion. Other peoples' influence on your opinion can be helpful to keep you level headed but never feel shame for songs you like. I love Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks... it has a very US feel about it. The Girl With The x-Ray Eyes isn't as bad as most people claim it to be. I don't skip it generally. |

I find songs like AOTR, SGOG, LTLSALOM really dragged out and boring. I don't think there that special and for me that's why I rate IPYET and TGR so much higher than them
