EDIT: Because of several aggressive yes-men replies not focusing on the actual facts but instead interpreting an earlier name of this thread literally (typical extremist behaviour), I have now changed the name (however, I don't even know what would be the "correct" name given that Liam's voice has probably not sounded worse since he was born).
I have spoken to about ten non-Oasis fans about the performance on One Love Manchester. None, and I mean none, thought Liam's voice was good. Everyone though it was so nasal that it sounded like he was holding his nose while singing, that it was weak and that it was an empty shell compared to his glory days.
Sure, he hit the notes better than the last couple of tours, but the voice is completely gone. It's also completely different, in a bad way. He sounds like a ghost, a shadow of his former self.
Really, really, sad. I really loved his voice, even live at least sometimes, not very long ago. And back in the 90s and sometimes during 2000-2002 it was of course possibly the best live voice in rock history. But today... I mean this is just so sad.
I am 100% convinced that anyone who thinks he sounded "great" is a fan that is so used to his horrible live vocals during the last 15 years that any slight improvement compared to Kermit suddenly induces comments such as "the best he has sounded in 20 years". Utter crap performance. Horrible, in fact. I do not even recognize the voice. It's like another person singing.
I remember when I saw Oasis in Argentina in 2009, and some people in the audience were just looking at eachother, quite amazed, and commented in spanish on how Liam sounded like a barking dog during Slide Away and several other songs. For some reason, his voice sounded much better on Champagne Supernova and a couple of other songs, but overall it was just horrible. Not as bad as the performance in Argentina back in 2006, but still horrible. Fortunately, the fans in Argentina don't care and sing along anyway. But most agreed that his voice was utterly crap.
Similarly, his performance on the Olympics were probably the worst performance by any vocalist in rock history. Even my mother was embarrased by hearing it, and she was even telling me that he felt sorry for him and the fact that he has lost his once beautiful voice. I guess many people here thought it was good because they have lowered their standards so much by listening to his crap live vocals for 15 years, but any sane person from the outside thought it was horrible.
I have met hundreds of non-Oasis fans won over by Liam's old voice. I have, however, never met a single non-Oasis fan who likes his current voice. Not a single one.
Maybe if you are a native english speaker, his voice sounds a bit better simply because it's your native language (that's quite common also for swedish singers), I don't know.
But I cannot stand his current voice. It's not Liam singing. It's someone else.
You do not have to agree. But I am not a troll. I just want Liam's management to know what actual people (not the hardcore yes-men of this forum) thinks about his vocals, if it's true that they actually read these threads.
By the way, I run the Endstation account on Youtube and I am a big Oasis fan since 1994. I have seen them live in 6 countries, have all the singles as well as Liam's autograph etc etc bla bla. Honestly it's just sad that I even have to mention this.
Sorry for my english.

I think this obvious hater is the former Chief himself as he would be the only one who knows what Liam sounded like 30 years ago lol. Maybe Liam's voice sounded bad at 14 when he was going through puberty and Noel remembers that.

IIRC Liam only started to sing after attending a Stone Roses gig back in '88, so he wasn't even singing 30 years ago 😂

But if you want to call anyone with a sane opinion a "hater", you are welcome.

Very interesting that people are calling the person behind the Endstation youtube account (i.e. me) a "troll", just for pointing out the obvious.
I have been an Oasis fan since 1994. Have seen them in 6 countries. Have even seen Beady Eye in 2 countries. NGHFB in one. Have all the singles. Have Liam's autograph. Have seen "Supersonic" twice. Etc etc.
The "30 years" was ovbiously not meant to be taken literally.
If I change the name of the thread to "25 years", would you still call me a "troll"?
You are a sad bunch of yes-men.
Liam's voice is horrible. I have never met ANY non-Oasis fan who likes his current voice.
However, I have met hundreds of non-Oasis fans who like or actually love his earlier voice.

Hope it sounds OK on the album.

It sounded good to me and that is all I care about. He isn't as good live anymore and he never will be but there is no point getting hung up on it. Dylan sounds shit, McCartney sounds bad but people still come because of the songs and who they are. Liam's voice has always been a select taste, his 90's vocals appealed to more people but the majority of people in the world think The X Factor has good singers. At least he still sounds good on record and if he sings as good as One Love I'll be a happy chappy.

Anything any one hasn't got already? or can't request here? I don't think so. Sure. I'm convinced you could get Sjöhistoriska, the Live forever demo, Rockin' Chair live, the Up in the sky acoustic version with Liam and everything else here very easy. But at least I uploaded them (when Youtube was quite new, if I remember everything correctly), so that millions could see them. What did you do? At least I introduced some of the best moments of Liam's voice to thousands of people.
