For what it's worth, my guess is that we might hear a single before the festival dates, but the album (and a full UK+euro tour) is coming later this year, maybe in September.

He'll be able to cobble together footage from Leeds festival etc then to make it look like he has massive crowds for his later promo videos.

It's hard work to be a Gallagher brothers' fan... Remember the time when Noel hold up the whole press conference, meeting with fans live on facebook etc. to announce that his record is coming out in the next fucking year ? That was also frustrating. Can't they do it just like the rest of the world for once ? The bit where Noel played ITHOTM for the first time ever sat in front of a crowd of Facebook nerds who were all thinking "WTF are these na na nas?" was mega-cringe.

One thing I will say is that they've done really well keeping everything behind closed doors, we literally know nothing about the album still.

Id say that would be a positive step wouldnt you?, cheers.

The glass is half full Yeah, I don't mean it WILL be bad. I surely hope it won't. I just try to remind of that to ease the anticipation. It's pretty crazy to think that I waited eagerly for the release of DGSS and look what happened. This helps me put things on perspective.

When DGSS was about to drop there were so many random theories about why it would be good. My favorite was the thought that Noel held back LAG, which LAG bought into too in their interviews.

He looked really frustrated as well. I still wish he found another way instead of using "na na nas". It's jarring at first. Slightly antagonizing to the listener. Don't get me wrong I really really like it and always a highlight for me Live but l can see why non oasis fans might just pass.

I'll just look forward to your never ending concerns about Liam, what he does and how he does it and when he does it and why he does and who told him to do it.

IF you take a broad look at Liam's songwriting so far its difficult to suggest that it will be a great record with any certainty, he does have flashes of good stuff and I think he is capable of a good record. I only hope he has a look at what he's done before learns from it and pushes for more, songwriters are always at their best when they're hungry and Liam should be now. Of course hearing something might help.

I don't think has a chance. People are already disappointed with this album before it's even out.

Well Four Letter Word, Morning Son, The Roller and Millionaire were all demoed with Oasis. Yet we got The Nature of Reality, A quick peep, Keep the Dream Alive and Aint Got Nothin. Its fair to say we didnt get the very best of what LAG were writing.

I know its ironic to be annoyed at a Gallagher to be arrogant, but if the album is laced with Lennon-esque lyrics, references and generally just versions of Working Class Hero and Mind Games then i will be so angry with the people advising him.
Its by no means a good thing that hes on Warner.
Theyll be looking at this as a way to cash in on the name Liam Gallagher and nothing more.
The label will not for a second turn down a DGSS mark 2. Its the people closest to him and the artists he is surrounding himself with that needed to take him aside and really give him the direction he needs, mainly with the structuring of his songs.
Bit seriously he is already playing straight into the hands of every single hater if he is just mimicking lennon and after what happened with Beady Eye, its actually a really arrogant thing to do to the fan base.

Its fair to say we didnt get the very best of what LAG were writing. 4 songs out of how many on an album are hardly indicative of being held back? It's fair to say that Noel wasn't holding LAG back. Especially when DGSS was filled with Keep the Dream Alive and Ain't Got Nothing type songs. In fact, DGSS gave a pretty accurate picture of what LAG typically contributed to Oasis. Heights of goodness: TUTS and I'm Outta of Time and badness: Ain't Got Nothing and Keep the Dream Alive. I think it's pretty obvious we got exactly what LAG could do with/without Noel, and it was about the same quality. Besides, we'll never know how the above songs sounded in demo form. For all we know, many of them could have drastically changed. It was a three year gap between DOYS and DGSS.

Everyone needs to calm the fuck down. His first scheduled gig is in June. He's rehearsing for it. It's April. We'll hear information before June and quite possibly even hear new music before then. His website is live & he's giving us titbits of info on Twitter. Relax and stop whining ffs.

I don't mind if it's Lennonesque to the bone. All of Liam's penned songs were like that, plus he already said it is. If that's the style he can express himself in and it sounding good, the songs are good melodies, I will be happy for him. If it's real and from the heart, that's all that matters. There's too much plastic generic shit in music today to complain about Liam Gallagher being inspired by John Lennon.
Plus, i really like Lennon's solo stuff so fuck it. What would you want it to be like anyway ? One Direction ?

Album/single is gonna be out when its ready or when its the right time. i suppose the record company know the job. BTW, I dont expect to hear a radioheadsque album by Liam. Lennon+Oasis+BE+britrock influences, seems the perfect sound for his solo work. i cant expect anything else. i admire him for his guts to release a whole album under his own name. He could easily release a whole album with classic covers (beatles, stones, who, s.faces etc), release it on father's day and sell s***loads. He was/is THE SINGER/FRONTMAN after all... He has the talent to write a few good tunes (and a few great tunes also). anything by Liam is a bonus for me. Even if his album is a flop, i dont really mind. He remains the singer and i dont have any problem to hear him singing other people's songs.
