45 minutes interview of the great and lovely Rachel Goswell. Rather rare to find interviews of any Slowdive member on the internet, so it's nice. You can see how unfair the music press was with them in the 90's. Great to see the band being more respected and loved nowadays, as they deserve it (Souvlaki stays their greatest work for me, even though all their albums are good). EDIT: Tagging carlober and glider, as you're both fans and I haven't seen you in a while on the forum !

Their most recent album is fantastic. I'd qualify that as essential listening for shoegaze music and as one of the best comeback albums by an artist in recent years especially.

Btw, I've rewatched the Pitchfork "Souvlaki" documentary, and you can see some band members (especially Simon) have still a grudge against the britpop scene. I can understand their reaction as they released "Souvlaki" at the "bad time", just as britpop was exploding in the charts. But even if britpop didn't happen, would have things changed ? I mean don't get me wrong, "Souvlaki" is a 90's british underground classic, but it is exactly what it is: underground. And now thanks to the internet, the band got a bigger exposure, and it's well deserved.
But it's not that hard to understand why main Britpop bands got more success: their music was more unifying than Slowdive. I probably prefer "Souvlaki" over any Blur albums, but I can easily understand why "Parklife" appealed more to british people at the time. The singles were in a typical british tradition, close to The Kinks spirit.
It's hard to make it in the music industry, it's always risky. You can feel that "less talented" bands made it bigger than you and don't deserve it but in the end, people buy what they wanna buy. You can't go against it.
EDIT: And that not only applies to Slowdive, but also to a lot of other bands who felt spoil by britpop success.

I can't get enough of it. I've listened to it a dozen times and it's a fuckin' earworm.
It's the song that I needed and it came exactly when I needed it.

Pretty bad mixing from the BBC though... you can barely hear the rhythm guitar

New single, "Skin in the Game". Pretty good but not as good as "Kisses" imho. But it has that signature Slowdive sound.

This new track sounds phenomenal. I'm starting to believe that this record might be their best.
