I think the best strategy would be to announce the first single a week in advance for a midnight launch on iTunes/Amazon/Google Play. Don't have it on Spotify or YouTube for at least 24 hours to maximise sales, but get it played on radio so people are aware of it. Do people still listen to the radio? I live right outside NYC, 10 min train ride. I could only find 1 rock station on the dial and it's only classic rock top 40. New York fucking City mind you!!!!!!!!! Internet is where it's at sadly.

There should be potato's all over Manchester on billboards. Everybody's like what the hell and then: BAM! Liam's single.

I'm so excited about this, but also genuinely nervous. Great to have some new music from Liam (I'm more interested in this than new Noel stuff), but I'm really scared of it being a flop, or sounding middle of the road. I think if Liam 'fails' this time round, he may just retire for good, which will be heartbreaking, considering he's still relatively young.

I'm thinking, maybe Liam's album is not good for Noel's new album. He will maybe again play too safe just to have another commercial success and sell more than Liam.

Fantastic news.
Just curious though, if he's signed with a good record company, could that mean he's brought some strong material to the table?

I'd think so, I don't think Warner would sign him just because he's an ex singer of Oasis and Beady Eye who wants to release couple of tracks next year. I'm really excited

You kidding? Radio is probably still the most popular medium, music wise. Yes, internet is where it's at, but radio gets played fucking everywhere! Anyway, you live in America, and he will probably barely get any airplay over there anyway.

There use to be 5-6 alternative rock stations in New York City. There are currently zero. Only 1 classic rock station. Yes yeah, radio isn't that big of a factor for rock bands anymore.

The most encouraging thing is that signing with that type of company must mean that they have confidence in the material. Liam isn't a world star and wouldn't get carte blanche, few people do these days and I would imagine they have listened to everything he's done.

That's why I think Liam's name has got to be apart of the act. Oasis was a brand. People know Liam. People didn't know Beady Eye. Liam needs to be front and center.

Why pretend it's a "band" when he's writing all the songs and singing them. If he tours, they are there to see Liam, not 2-3 other guys. Same with Beady Eye. We came for Liam Gallagher.

They were never part of proper Oasis. The one that dominated the globe between 1995-1997.

A high % of people at those 00's gig goers/ fans wont have seen oasis g1. (and now people may not even been there then for any oasis gigs) was agreeing that Liam gallagher being name will bring many more peoples eyes and web clicks or whatever than beady eye ever could (which wasn't acknowledged here much at time, people said that was just an excuse) The side point was that while liam was the star the others also did have fans and still do, so can't just say people weren't there to see them cos some fans were. While not the ideal as the noel acoustic gigs in dec were the most exciting things noels done CY era.. the amount of love for Gem for instance shows that
