Once is alright I suppose, it's just a formulaic Anthem (TM) that is far too obvious in it's efforts to force those lighters into the air. As matt said, this tune wipes the floor with it:

I think Once is a fucking belter of a song. I don’t give a flying fuck about the Cool/Pool/School rhymes either. No, it’s not quite as good as Oasis back in the 90’s, but even Noel can’t do that anymore. This is as near as it will ever get these days. Once is fine, but there's way way better Liam songs out there. It does sound like a bunch of industry songwriters trying to make a Noel Gallagher song. Tunes that Oasis never touched upon, like One Of Us, are far far far superior. It's certainly no Dead In The Water, and certainly not up there with the best of Who Built The Moon. If you want the sentimentality of the kind that Once provides, well Noel still does it better than anyone Liam hires. I know that it’s an unpopular opinion but Dead in the water is little bit overrated here I think. Defo good song but its melody isn’t that great imo... Although its lyrics are really good and I like Noel’s vocals, very emotional

I enjoy Once but One of Us a better song I agree. In fact it's Liam's best solo effort IMO.

Oh, if that is indeed what you meant, I apologize. Not trying to be an asshole, but I wrote it the way I did to mean exactly what it said. I don’t know how someone could take it wrong if they read the entire post. I misread it. The gist of it was that you didn't understand how anybody who was a real Oasis fan didn't like Once. No more to it, no more reason to keep this going.

It’s probably been asked before, but why didn’t Liam do the same thing with his singles as what Beady Eye did with theirs? He could’ve put the AYW and WMWN bonus tracks as B-sides on the single vinyls. It wouldn’t have been new material but it still would’ve been better than just the etched lyrics. Any reasons for this?

I don’t know anything about the production costs but the plus sales gained from the bonus track and a nice cover surely would’ve balanced it all out. And it’s not like we can hope for improvements as it’s already the second album.

The combination of the etched singles and their ridiculous £10 price tag have finally stopped me buying everything Liam has released since Lyla in 2005. The plain white sleeves and lack of artwork are also a massive kick in the balls to the fans. If the die hard fans/collectors like myself aren't interested then that should be a big problem sales wise.

Is "One of Us" an intentional reference to the Beatles song "Two of Us"? 🤔

Is "One of Us" an intentional reference to the Beatles song "Two of Us"? 🤔 They have written so many songs, so many rows of lyrics that it’s practically impossible at this point not to make subtle Beatles references in every single tune. There are only so many words to be used.

Was the AYW vinyl hardback book/box available in shops at all or just online from the official site?
I found one second hand for $99, complete with the Warner shipping side wear people were talking about in the threads we had at the time.
Is it worth getting? The collector in me would like to think so but it honestly seems just like a glamorized version of the CD booklet with some little bonuses like postcards.

Liam is very underrated as songwriter.
Songbird, I'm Outta Time, Born On a Different Cloud, I Believe in All, Boys With the Blues, For Anyone, Wigwam, The Morning Son, Start Anew, Bold, Universal Gleam.

90 percent of the people who reply to Liams tweets are women with anxiety disorders who all know each other.

Songbird, I'm Outta Time, Born On a Different Cloud, I Believe in All, Boys With the Blues, For Anyone, Wigwam, The Morning Son, Start Anew, Bold, Universal Gleam. That's still only 11 songs in 20 years since Little James. It's why I think people are a bit wishful in thinking he could write an album entirely on his own.

I didn't say he could write an album entirely. I thought some people think he cannot write any good songs, so I said that. I wish 2-3 songs by Liam only on an album, like As You Were.

One Of Us is definitely better than Once, but Wall of Glass is his best imo. Bold and FWIW for me. Bold is great on record but tragic live. Fwiw is like a better version of Once. Like them both.
