I totally fucking agree with Noel that if the masterplan had been their 3rd album it probably wouldve been totally different for oasis. its shocking to think about all those songs wasted as B sides. he is right though that the split has only helped their popularity, absence makes the heart grow fonder. You seem really hung up on commercial success. I'd question whether Liam or Oasis need or needed to be any bigger than they are or were. Noel was talking about it in an interview so go listen to him talk about it himself. If Noel didnt make the comment then I would be agreeing with him would I?
its not about being "hung up" at all.

I hope he's resting his voice up well for Glastonbury. yeah I hope so, somewhat doubtful though considering hes had at least two gigs in the last week with another booked for tonight I believe. will be a real shame if he ends up sounding rough considering his placement at glastonbury, he will get a lot of coverage.
Yeah, totally forgot he had the Eden gig tonight.

Its still released and commercially available. They would be wasted if they weren't released altogether.

Liam would nail the turning live these days, but don't think it's gonna happen

They were wasted because if they’d have released the master plan as there 3rd album then it would’ve catapulted them into a different stratosphere popularity wise...

Would you mind if I disagreed? The b-sides were a massive part of the magic of the time. oh I don't deny that but be here now was generally considered to be abit of a let down. If you took the best songs from BHN and mixed them up with the best songs from the masterplan, you probably wouldve had something that couldve gone some way to living up to the hype.
I can understand Noels frustration that he had enough songs there for 3 high quality albums and then ended up wasting a good chunk as B sides. If Noel knew then what he knows now, its almost certain he wouldnt of used songs like rockin chair as B sides. He wouldve spread his best work out more.
Noel's songwriting talent of the 90s clearly didnt last (he couldnt of known that of course). As he said, be here now was pretty much the moment where he started losing it. As much as I love BHN, its pretty clear that the quality of the songs was finally starting to slip. There is obviously other factors like releasing BHN too soon after WTSMG etc. They probably shouldve gone away after knebworth.
Going away to write and experiment for a year and a half or two would've been a good move. Then get back into the studio for another few months, and have a second half 1998 or first half 1999 release. 1997 was just too soon, especially with the party mindset that the band was in.

It'd be nice to see Liam on stage with something other than a raincoat/parka.

Not sure what he's trying to achieve with the side hair I'm curious when he goes with the always awesome Be Here Now style cuts, does he tell them to cut his bangs like millimeters? Then most of it mid level elsewhere.

He denied any plans with the Killers, and he's going to start smiling more.

on the one hand, he likely would deny plans if they want it to be a surprise. On the othe hand, it was the sun that came up with that rumour so no surprise if its totally false.

Just read Dan Wootton's latest attempt to resurrect the domestic violence story. Basically throwing his toys out of the pram because Liam hasn't had his career destroyed by it. Calling out Glastonbury for allowing him to perform. What an unpleasant arse that man is.

The Sun won’t give up, and what better timing for them than Glasto, Tour announcement, basically waiting for Liam to be top of the game. And oh there’ll be more, much more.
