Liam's first gig after Covid-19 would be biblical gig. because His voice is great after a long break. early gigs in every tour, 2003, 2004 poole lighthouse, 2013 (after Gem's recovery), 2017.

Thats a great thing to look forward to.
What gigs in 2003 would you recommend? I always thought of 2003 as a bit of a bad year.

It's something to look forward to when ever we get the next gig from Liam and Noel for that matter.

Seriously though as Covid cases are rising again it could be a while before we get any gigs from Noel and Liam.

It’s a really good song but it was number one single just bc it was released by Oasis in 98. They could release Magic Pie as a single and it’d be number one (number two if there’d be a strong competition). Good album track, but such strange choice for a single. Nevertheless I’d like to listen to it live, preferably w orchestra and everything

It's one of the band's very best, a pop-song extravaganza with every undeniable melody building on the last - it totally deserves to have been a #1. Give it a tasteful trim and I honestly think people would go mental for it. It's a natural single once you do a radio edit, and it sound great live with just a minimum of extravagance. As far as I'm concerned, there's no good reason why it hasn't been a set-list regular for all Oasis/Gallagher tours since 2000. The fact that it hasn't been played once in that time is utterly criminal. Liam would do very well indeed to make it part of his next live run.

Listening to the record, one gets a sense of there being violins off somewhere playing hooks, but any attempt to follow them through the track is hopeless once other things--backing vocals, harmonica parts, Noel's very many lead guitar overdubs--come along. The orchestra just gets drowned out. There isn't enough space in the cod-Spector wall of sound for it to be heard as it should've been.

All Around The World is ok but the song is just far too long for me. It would have been better if it was a bit shorter.

I agree with Andy "If I was at a Liam gig, the song I’d be waiting for would be 'Once'. That tune makes the hairs on my arms stand up."

I wouldn't begrudge a very occasional live outing but I'm very much in the " oh god, not All Around the World" camp. To put it simply - it really isn't that great. He's better off sticking with Whatever.

I actually have no issues with the production on the second half of All Around the World. Yeah, it's not the clearest, but when was an Oasis banger ever that clear? It's loud and joyous and carefree and brilliant. The first half has some stuff I'd change, though - I'd like the verses to have been a bit more wistful and Cast-No-Shadow-ish, with softer drumming and more acoustics. But I honestly don't understand what people can dislike about the song other than that and it being (a bit) too long. The verses are great, the bridge is godlike, the chorus is magic. And I love the unending circus of joy that starts when Noel's la-la-la's kick in. Not only does it deserve to have been a #1, I'd say it's one of the band's best #1's - certainly superior to stuff like Lyla or The Hindu Times.
Get it played!

Did this song get played on the radio a lot in 1998? And was it ever played in full? I can't answer the first question, but for the second I doubt it was played in full more than once or twice. I reckon you could get it to a 5 minute radio edit quite easily, though - just loop Noel's la-la-la's a few times when they come in, and fade out over that. I might knock up an idea of what it could have been tonight, actually.

Well I don’t say it’s not good enough to be #1. There were more than few #1s worse than AAtW and I’m not talking about Oasis. It’s just don’t have commercial appeal imo, that’s why it was wrong choice for a single. Btw it has decent amounts of streams (for 90s song) so I assume there are lot of ppl who’s gonna be glad to listen to it live. But not too often and not festival crowds. Liam said once that he wants to play it, all 9 min and 19 sec, doesn’t he? Maybe it was joke but still. If his label’ll pay for a orchestra for a big gig one day, he should add Whatever and AAtW to his setlist

Back in the 90s (and in the 2000's before streaming sites were around) I used to listen to Virgin Radio (which is now Absolute Radio) and they used to play All Around The World quite a lot if I remember right. But I think it was always a radio edit version.

Happy 48th birthday, Liam. When I started to listen to Oasis, he was 28 and I was a teenager who cried over his voice in Slide Away. Time flies...
