I actually have no issues with the production on the second half of All Around the World. Yeah, it's not the clearest, but when was an Oasis banger ever that clear? It's loud and joyous and carefree and brilliant. The first half has some stuff I'd change, though - I'd like the verses to have been a bit more wistful and Cast-No-Shadow-ish, with softer drumming and more acoustics. But I honestly don't understand what people can dislike about the song other than that and it being (a bit) too long. The verses are great, the bridge is godlike, the chorus is magic. And I love the unending circus of joy that starts when Noel's la-la-la's kick in. Not only does it deserve to have been a #1, I'd say it's one of the band's best #1's - certainly superior to stuff like Lyla or The Hindu Times. Get it played! I only recently got round to learning to play it on guitar, I didn't realise what a fun chord sequence it is and a bit unusual for Noel to write with lots of barre chords. Did he knick it from somewhere? Anyway I agree I'd love to hear Liam give it a bash, also the epic Fade In/Out from that tour.

The River is a great song and one of the best songs on Why Me Why Not. It wasn't a favourite of mine when the album came out, but its one i find myself coming back to quite a lot. For me, it has stood the test of the time it has been around.

The River is a great song and one of the best songs on Why Me Why Not. Quite right. Yep, and it's a pity that the song only had a digital single release and not a proper physical one.

The River is a great song and one of the best songs on Why Me Why Not. I love it live but the album version doesn't quite do it for me

The River is a great song and one of the best songs on Why Me Why Not. Agreed. I only wish it was produced slightly heavier. Especially the Drums

The River is definitely one of the better tunes on WMWN, but it still feels a bit rushed for me. It's as if nothing was properly written for the middle-eight, so you just get this distant guitar solo and some aaahh-aaahh's in it's place.
The vocals and melody are both good, though, so the bedrock of a good rock tune is there.

This has to be one of his best solo songs. It still sounds fresh and it's so different from beady eye, it was the start of a new beginning. Who could ever imagine it?
