Rihanna's new album is epic. I believe it has just beaten the record for the highest number of writers and producers listed in the credits. 47 writers (excluding Rihanna) and 18 producers, if I counted right...

'The Queen is Dead' (the song) is one of the best songs ever I think. It has just the right production, just the right dark and vicious lyrics, as Morrissey plays the part of a guy with the world ending around him perfectly in the vocal department. The tempo is unnerving and fast paced, Marr's guitar tone and pedal mastery is mesmerizing, Joyce's drumming, especially in the beginning, is punk perfection, Rourke's bass is tuned perfectly - and that outro! If I could describe 4:30 onwards - it's "Jangle Pop Psychedelia". I don't know how I can properly capture it in a actual adjective other than that. It's haunting and trippy, but in a post-punk and jangle pop way, especially with the drumming and bass. But then here comes Marr with the Wah-Wahs and crazy overdrive effects that just takes it to a completely new level of badass. I've always imagined a "naked" DYKWIM sounding like The Queen Is Dead.

Major Minus is quite an underrated Coldplay song, and a really good one too. There's an uneasy vibe going on throughout the whole song with the way the guitars sound, but that solo adds such a beautifully wide open feeling to everything.

That's why I don't completely mark off MX - it has some stinkers and way too much production but at the end of the day I can still call it a proper Coldplay album - it's just my least favorite from the first 4 preceding it.

Imagine if The Verve released Alone with Everybody as their follow-up to Urban Hymns. Would they have been elevated to Oasis's 1996 level of popularity?

Suede's comeback , first with ''Bloodsports'' and now with ''Night Thoughs'' is the best guide for Noel, for a proper Oasis comeback. You dont habe to be huge, you dont have to put everything on fire, you only have to release quality music. And thats the meaning of good music. Music. Music. Not only numbers (sales, stadiums, money). Noel (Liam, Oasis), imo, have, stili a lot to prove and put the oasis legacy again in it's right place.
Brothers feud, words, interviews and some of their latest oasis work hurt a lot and deep Oasis legacy. But the gallagher brothers proved that they are capable of, i dare to say, even greater things!!! Put their projects together, half of their songs and you have the best oasis album since ... Its ok for both to make what they want with their projects, but they own to hemselves, they own to Oasis legacy last great statement under the oasis name. Imo, its gonna be great, its gonna be huge, its gonna put them in another level. Just release the best you have and show the world what is like to be probably still the best band in the world.

Without her talent Rihanna would not be able to carefully select these people, as they would tell her to fuck off. If it is that easy i look forward to your album.

Or the music world would be filled with talentless guys pretending they're the next Bowie. Oh, hang on a second... The girl can sing, yes. And she does look great. The rest of her talent is probably very well hidden under the work of her personal army of writers/producers/public image managers. Come on, she didn't even co-write most of her biggest hits. Where does the big talent lie exactly? Because honestly I can't tell any difference between her and any of her contrived popstar colleagues.

There is only one question. Is the music good? To me the answer is yes and that is all that counts. How the music came in to being does not make it better or worse.

It's astonishing how so many people combined, who should know a thing or two about music, can produce such crap. That blows my mind.

There is only one question. Is the music good? To me the answer is yes and that is all that counts. How the music came in to being does not make it better or worse. Ok, I decided to "waste" 51 minutes of my life and gave it a go It's not as bad as I thought to be honest: it is somehow different from many other shite pop albums, it's more relaxed and songs are more "layered". The 18 producers did a really good work on most of the album as it does sound more interesting than your average contemporary pop stuff. I still wouldn't call it "epic" but maybe it's just me... I enjoyed Kiss It Better (it's got a slightly '80s sound which I like) and Desperado. Never Ending is another good one, but 90% of it is a cover of Thank You by Dido (who is also listed as the main songwriter in the credits). And I'd rather have the original version Work and Woo are incredibly annoying. Needed Me is pretty much unlistenable. Only If For a Night by Florence + The Machine was transformed into a 1 and a half minute filthy mess in one of the bonus tracks. Pose is the worst thing I've heard in the last few months, I can't believe there's some people actually liking this crap. Sex With Me is more musically engaging but it's fucking awful. And it took six people to write these great lyrics: "Sex with me, so amazing /All this all work, no vacation Stay up off my Instagram / pure temptation Hit a switch on a fake nigga / like a station Sex with me, so amazing, mmm" The rest isn't worth mentioning, it's mostly mediocre/poor stuff made slightly interesting by production. All IMHO obviously.

The first time when I saw them was their acoustic gig in 2011 and saw them again in 2014 (twice). They're playing in April overhere again, but don't know if I can make it as I'm seeing The Coral in same week.
