I can, because they're both Irish. Think you’ll find that’s no the English flag though eh.

Think you’ll find that’s no the English flag though eh. Who said it was? In fact it's more anti Irish than an England flag.

“Everybody knows Oasis pisses all over the Beatles.” Liam turns 50 in September. Still the coolest geezah. #LG
Short but good interview. Liam comes alive towards half way.
*I post Liam and Noel stuff in this section at times bc it’s easier than finding the solo threads. Thanks mods.

I’d like to hear the original proposed October 2001 single of “The Hindu Times”.

This guy is a fantastic creator. Hope he’s on here…. His Oasis content is top notch.
I’m just about to watch this one now:

SOTSOG and DOYS are quintessential oasis and are their best work and i will not be taking dissenting opinions today Oh yeah?!?!? Well if “Let’s All Make Believe” was on the proper album it would have gone #1 in 29 countries and sold 9 million copies. These are facts.

I think the theory goes crazy at the end (the beatles part does not make a lot of sense to me, and the thing with the 3s is nonsense), but he may be onto something regarding the WTSMG part. In any case, a very entertaining watch for diehards like us

SOTSOG and DOYS are quintessential oasis and are their best work and i will not be taking dissenting opinions today I agree that they're essential to the band's discography, especially to show how they didn't always do the same damn thing for 18 years (such a short period of time ) You can make a pretty good playlist out of songs from each album: Fuckin' in the Bushes Bag It Up The Turning Go Let it Out Waiting for the Rapture The Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time Who Feels Love? Let's All Make Believe Gas Panic! Falling Down Where Did It All Go Wrong? To Be Where There's Life I Believe in All Roll It Over Soldier On Boy With the Blues

Oasis and the Gallaghers have stayed relevant from 1994 through to 2022 (and beyond…). Not many bands and artists can say the same.

To be fair to Harry Styles (Harry Staks did make me laugh ), it's just a completely different thing. Harry's no rock and roll star. (And he wouldn't be as famous as he is if he were in 2022.) But he is what they call today a "multi-talent." He sings. He writes. He acts (quite well I can say having seen it.) He can command a huge, devoted fan base who are interested in what he wears and any type of project he's involved with. He'll still be part of the culture for a long time unless he seriously screws up. But it's apples and oranges. (I'm not personally a fan of his music, but there's just no doubt that he's seen as a significant force in the entertainment industry.)

On top of that, he is a movie star. It has little to do with his success in music (plenty of big pop stars fail at acting) but you either are or you aren't one, and he definitely is, and he's just starting his career there.

They were huge especially in the U.S. When they broke up, it was an event. When everyone dropped their solo projects, it was with fanfare; albeit less and less with each member until Harry's long-awaited solo album came along arguably lived up to the hype. Harry's good. Hell, I'd wager to say he wouldn't be out of place on our music discussion threads and he wears his influences on his musical sleeve (listen to As it Was and Sign of the Times). He's introducing a younger audience to older music and keeping that style of music going in the mainstream. I wish he'd do more of what Kurt Cobain did by actively promoting underground artists he thinks are cool and pushing them (which is sort of what Taylor Swift has done with The National, HAIM, Bon Iver and others) but I understand why he's not always able to and I think his thing is cool. He transcends pop culture through the years and will have a nice, fruitful career similar to a more-successful version of Justin Timberlake.
